The Unsung Poet

I deserve to win
This fine poetry contest
Cos I'm good at poems and stuff
Naturally it comes to me
Just like Newton's apple
Falling through space
Not unnaturally at all
Such as playing a guitar would be
Cos I've got fat fingers
So it's plain to see
My culinary skills can't be beaten
And I really deserve to win
You know
The chariots of God are tens of thousands, and thousands of thousands.

I like to write poetry. I haven't written a poem for awhile. Here is one of my old ones:

UNamerican

Its not that I am Un-American.
I mean America is all about freedom, right?
Its just that so many of our "American" sensabilities-
the one's that prey on our desirous, coveted, created and recreated needs-
seem to perpetuate like a great monster.
We think it is simpler to consume, destruct then move on and forget-
yet reason-to me-
Seems to dictate a simpler yet humbler solution to strive to be free of a perpetuating system of self-destruction by taking care of the trail as we pass
making all use and finding the potential in that which is regarded as waste.

Pin Poom Pane
What about the fast lane?

Sin Zoom Zane
All but ourselves can go down the drain.

This self-interested bane of capitalism drives the unimaginative insane.
With so many stunted-stilted and in pain

-few must, few may- few will find the freedom and ignite the flame that loosens the drain free
FREE FREE FREE
to find the best
way main

So get out of convention
and invent a new senability
and make some
cents of sensability for
a change.
You cannot destroy my vision when you see my vision undestroyed because I am just an undestroyer.

oh thy poetry,
how truly you blossom,
like a gay tulip in the sun,

for who shines bright,
is the one with the biggest smile,
in the day of sadness,
comes acula,

he smells,
like garlic,
in the light.

All things are fleeting

There are a few distinguishing moments in life when we are forced to
look back and see where we have been and where we are destined to go.
Pages from yesteryear clatter in the back of your mind.

Like wind chimes in the distance.

Ding ding dong, ding ding dong.

The sound echoes. Mostly sweet; sometimes sad.

Ding ding dong, ding ding dong.

The wind whips through the hollow of a dying tree. Echoing… mostly in your mind.
Regret cascades over you for loves that are lost and lessons learned.

Ding ding dong, ding ding dong.

The wind stops still and sounds fade anon. Your heart stops for that fleeting moment; beckoning the chimes to waken. The slow and steady pulse resumes. The levanta shifts and a new melody is born. Not quite distinguishable, but still there. She clears her throat and bells a new beginning.

Ding Dong Ding, Ding Dong Ding…

All things are fleeting.

Ding Dong Ding, Ding Dong Ding…

It’s time to answer the world’s call.

Too the girl I love best
I love her best when she is undressed
I fuck her standing
I fuck her lying
If she had wings I would fuck her flying
and when she is dead and all forgotten
I will dig her up and fuck her rotten

"GLP"

GLP is a board populated by crazies
Who'd be better off pushing up daisies
Evidence? Just look over all the insane posts
Not an inch closer to truth, do they even come close

Parsing over details: imagined, not real
Disconnected from reality: no sense or feel
Not one first hand witness to recount what happened
Just a bag full of nuts with nothing to fasten

Nibiru? Skyquakes? HAARP? Fake
Now hold your tongue, its best to abate
But a piece of the cake, they definitely take
When it comes to imagination; fertile and great

So I love them, I feel that I'm with my own
With like minded fools, I've made it my home
I'd happily spend my days: parsing, postulating
Over imagined scenarios, through arguments degrading

But I digress, I just had to get it off my chest
That GLP fuckers refuse - to let dead horses rest

You cut up "In Search of Ancient Gods" and created a poem correct?

You created an 100% original poem from words from the above mentioned in search of ancient gods?

The energy in the air is strong this night
You can feel it without thought or might
it radiates, flows, brings you to center
This energy has shown me what ill always remember

When we Focus it, Channel it
Just take note of it
We learn it, feel it
We can take hold of it

Direct this prana, this chi, this light
To do good for you, and all of mankind
As this new year unfolds and yet it hasnt begun
We can make a new world, a much better one

And though it starts out small
It winds up great
all it takes is work
and a little faith

How Does a Fly Land on a Ceiling?

They fly upside down, I hear you say.
But would they fly if they flew that way?
They loop-de-loop before they land,
Some one else suggests offhand.
But I assure you
That’s not right too.
Craftily say we?
With this I must agree!
Now, lets change the topic
From the microscopic
And imagine you’re all flies,
Each with a thousand, tiny spies,
A pair of flimsy, flapping wings
And six landing-wheel things.
On these you must come to rest,
An inverted, unwelcome guest,
You grace mums nice white ceiling
Your skid marks keep her cleaning.
Instead of wheels, you have hooks
To help maintain your good looks
Or become a hand brake
If a landing you must make.
Then, with your front two legs
Held above your hairy heads
You snag the runway on approach
Yet never knew a flying coach!
Under this your aircraft swings
As you stop those buzzing wings,
And quicker than some circus clown
You’re on your feet, upside down!
"If you do not go within
You WILL go without."

A wiser man than I

"Standing on truth
Ensures eternal support."

"There is a perfectly logical
explanation for everything
and
a logically perfect everything
for explanations."

The sun was telling me something tonight
as it said goodbye...silently...a message...an undeniable
message.
A chorus of stars stretched across the sky
waiting to be heard
struck by the full unfolding of this beaming over reaching sun.
so close – too close – too big for my heart.
pouring out fully across the sky
like there was no
tomorrow.
stirring my soul with it's consuming brilliance.
Awesome umber undertones in a white hot shining sun pouring itself out over the sky like
a final goodbye.
Pulling me into it's aura like a relentless lover.
Saying something.
Singing a chorus of last chance light into the horizon.

I told the wind
to tell my friend
to capture the sun today and send it to me
and he did.
he knew.
he listens.
there are songs of the sun to be heard
if you listen

Falling into the ocean...the suns last burning hot burst
became
fiery mushroom cloud
billowing sunfire inside the cumulus cloud guarding the horizon.
racing my heart with images in my mind of Nagasaki
wordless screams, life evaporated.
No songs
talking no more
no green flash
no warning of the end
no escape from it's departure.
The mushroom cloud hovered at oceans edge drinking in the last light of the sun...
finally dissolving into tomorrow.
I am still listening.
There was a song inside this sunset.

The people of the land
they are listening to the heartbeart of the earth...
still...
to the songs of the sun.
the sun talks
it dances
listen.

Might be breaking the rules, but mine's a 2pt poem that I wrote a few years apart, hope you enjoy!

*ps. It's based on Stephen King material

Of Seven, Eleven, and One

There was a tower of dark divine,

Of shadow and power, of creeping vine.

Within this tower, a secret deep;

In form of flower, a Godly reap.

The flow’r, a rose, held magic of old,

It murmured in prose words bitter and cold,

Which gripped men’s hearts and bid them come.

But once this quest starts, it cannot be won.

There was a tower, my single dream,

Enslaving me to the vast N1n9teen.

Part Deux: The Not So Dark Tower

Many a tale there have been wrought,
Of the tower which anchors all.
The beams of time, of space and thought,
Which many believed would fall.

But there is a will, a strength of heart,
Which humanity has found.
It calls to us and makes us start
to wake, and look around.

We see the evils our deeds can cause,
The hate, the rage and pain.
We yearn for earthly life to pause,
We wish away the rain.

Many a tale there have been wrought,
Of the tower which anchors all.
But the war is over, the battles fought,
Our back's freed from the wall.

Alas the clouds've begun to break,
The shadow's moving on.
While truth arrives and claims its stake,
Amid a dazzling dawn.

Emblazoned in a beam of light,
The tower still stands strong.
And from the top one has the sight
To judge 'tween right and wrong.

And as the darkness fades away,
The people have a choice.
Crawl back into the silent void,
Or stand and use your Voice

For as our heartstrings amplify
Our Earthly symphony,
The Universe will breathe a sigh
And sing along with glee.

Many a tale there have been wrought,
Of the tower which anchors all.
But do not think they were for naught,
The tales were but a call.

Be like the water flowing thru

water the great gift of god
properties of healing and life
and also motion
the river of life flows thru us all
healing us every moment
every day
but we control the rivers path
and where it leads
is ultimately our choice

it's path is beatin
ensuring its destiny
taking you there
every day
be aware of your thoughts
they are the architects of your flow
let go of that which doesn't serve you
in time anything can be changed
but you have to beat a new path
to the destination of your choice
leading you to your virtue

Winter to Spring:

‘Tis long in time, and time again,
Since one has heard the tale.
Summon strength, come God and men,
In time all must prevail.

‘Twas in the hour, of the day,
At waning of the year,
When wrought in power, one did say,
‘Hope, be gone, not near.’

And like the wind,
Through fields of grass,
Hope, it turned and fled.
And left all else to fight and sass,
‘Til all our fields were dead.

But one did see what one had done,
And why no flowers grew.
And so one said, “It has begun!”
One’s trumpet then one blew.

From mountain stream a light did gleam,
So too from forest and field.
Hearts of men, united again,
Came forth with sword and shield.

Together they stood, bound but by good,
In forest, field, city.
For see they could, 'twas well understood,
Evil grants no pity.

What they fought, they knew quite not,
The enemy came all the same.
And in the midst, of the fallen's list,
The foe did alas too lay slain.

This is Life

This is life.
We have but one.
What we do with it,
is decided by none.

This is life.
We all live it.
Why do we hate?
Why do we love?

This is life.
The question is why.
Nobody knows,
why we live or die.

This is life.
The question is who.
Everyone matters,
even me, even you.

This is life.
The question is what.
From your brain,
down to your gut.

This is life.
The question is where.
From over here,
to over there.

This is life.
The question is when.
The answer is always,
every now and zen.

This is life.

Hi, I actually just created this account so i can enter this contest, after soo long on GLP as an AC i am now a member, i got 2 poems that are very different from each other and always hesitated on throwing my work out there in fear of someone stealing my work.. but hey, i now realize that id rather have it known than not to be!

the first is a poem i wrote for my wife when i asked her to Marry me!

I love you,
more than you know,
this is to my love,
My love i must show,

My love is simple,
and you are sweet.
I grow weak,
When our eyes meet!

I look at love
with heavy eyes,
your in my dreams,
like a star in the sky.

Your the light in my heart,
it shall never dim.
forever apart,
would be such a sin.

so here i ask,
to be the water to your rose.
so forever i can be with you,
to watch your beauty grow.

the 2nd poem was in my younger days its titled "Still Drunk"

STILL DRUNK

I woke up drunk at about 4,
I was sleepin like a rock on a hard ass floor,
I stumbled to my feet but to my surprise,
my legs were asleep they werent alive.
i looked all around there were people everywhere,
As i sit half awake in my boxer underwear.
My stomach starts too rumble as i look for a bag,
to upchuck the 3 STARS that i probally had.
I ran too the bathroom about too spew,
but my stomach dont agree its just a number 2.
I looked to the sink to get a quick drink,
as i gazed at the mirror i had LOSER on my cheek.
I bailed out the bathroom still drunker than piss,
i tripped on my foot and ate my own fist.
i stumbled to my feet and headed for the kitchen,
i looked towards the table its Kentucky Fried Chicken.
I look to my right and see an open beer,
i slammed that shit down with no fear.
I think to myself time must fly,
as i stare at a clock that now reads 5.
A friend walks in his hair all jacked,
but the color in his face is what he lacked.
" what are u doin" was all i hear,
"im eatin chicken in the kitchen in my boxers with a beer,
watchin time fly by Happy fuckin NEW Year"

Thnx for your consideration!
