Could this 'storm' come from exploding satellites?

there are coronal holes on the sun (black bits on goes xray on [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] ) that release a stream of solar wind in our direction when earth facing. it contributes to the effects you have seen.

look for flares here but dont post til its an m or an x

m class can cause auroras & be geoeffective and newsworthy
x class are stronger and newsworthy

Kp4 is a very minor level that occures a lot
Kp5, one leve higher is considered "minor"

he's posted nothing but ignorant fear mongering. we've had K8 and 9s that did nothing. the magnetosphere is weakening, the ionosphere is shrinking, there are very relevant things happening - all of which the op is oblivious to.

It's the CME that's causing this. The solar wind stream will come the 5th or sixth

If it is a KP 6 or 7 then wake us up everything else is exaggeration

It's not exaggeration. Geomagnetic storms cause aurora and are awesome for Aurora watchers.

A brush with density...
A filament eruption on the southeast limb yesterday ( [link to youtu.be] sent a CME (plasma blob) out into space, some of which may brush past earth on February 3rd. At this time we're expecting active geomagnetic conditions (but less than G1 - minor storms). Aurora watchers in the high latitudes should keep an eye.

Here is the latest WSA-ENLIL model run showing the CME arrival. A couple of other model runs show the CME arriving earlier in the day on the 3rd. Visit www.spaceweather.gov for the latest updates.

The coronal mass ejection was huge, it happened on the 31st and it takes a few days to arrive here, whoch means ot should be here on the 3rd/4th of feb.
