Thrust vectoring might not be used if thrusters can be mounted in the canard wings. It could also be the platform trainer for advanced cockpit controls that always get upgraded into the machines that do carry various 'tools of war' and the pilots are upgraded by the time the power switch is activated for the first time. The fact remains you cannot fight a war based off a single prototype of an unproven "stealth" fighter. It doesn't even have midair refueling capability. . Bucephelus |

Quoting: Bucephelus Well, the reality is that you don't want a Stealth fighter that can make a sonic boom, because then it's no longer stealthy. However, 240 kias is so incredibly slow and gives it such a diminished range that it can almost be shot down with a backpack-based drone from an amphibious team from a beachhead on the Persian Gulf. . Wrong. The F-22 is one of the noisiest aircraft in the Air Force and can travel faster than the speed of sound without an afterburner. Stealth in aircraft has little to do with noise and much more to do with evading radar and reducing infrared signature. . No, I'm talking the F-117, which has a top speed of 617 mph, below the speed of sound. While the F-313 speed of 240 kias would make it tough to shoot down in a dog fight (low turn radius compared to an F-22), it makes it vulnerable to even drones along the gulf coastline once visually identified (BTW, that's easily done at 240 knots!). An F-18 Block II could probably easily scan a fan-blade count of this F-313 prototype and nail it on its first flight. That said -- Noise IS hazardous from ground-based sources HUMINT assets which then coordinate with look-down radar platforms for "tighter" radar scans from airborne surveillance. . the F117 was also noisy. It was only slow because the early stealth design didn't allow for speed. They would have gone for it if they could. I doubt the F-313 sould ever get to the merge with an F-22. First, the radar on the F-22 is far superior and they likely have a missle lock on this piece of junk from 50 miles out. Second, even if they got to the merge, the turn radius is far lower than you'd expect on an F-22 due to the vectored thrust. If you have to insist that you've won an Internet argument, you've probably lost badly. - Danth's Law |

The toy will never fly in combat, the dihedral is for compression in supersonic foreward flight, any attempts to maneuver will play havoc with lift dynamics. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is'nt a madman and deserves to be a leader. He is a voice of rationality and not a fool like the leaders that run our countries imo. This all becomes irrelivant anyway due to anti gravity which im sure you know the usa and uk possess. This the best the best a 7th century suicide cult has to offer? I would laugh if I saw a fighter jet designed by the 4th century death cult that infests our military, if they didn't have atheist scientists to do it. and the christians still think the weapons and jets and tanks given to them by science still hit their targets according of the will of God. |

In reality they have a few old russian fighters (the newest aircraft they have) and some very old F-4s and F-14s from the US. They have a few indigenous aircraft but nothing worth mentioning. Quoting: Weasel_Turbine years ago they claimed they had some SA-20 launchers and proudly displayed them in a parade. The pics showed they were really multiple oil drums welded together and sitting on a truck. Good enough to fool their public but not anyone that actually knows about the equipment. [link to defensetech.org] can't you see that that is Iran's tactic? makes you really think. do they have them really? or they don't? sometimes they act like they're really retarded for you to attack them, and come out as the victim and unleash hell like the Nazis did when Britain n France declared war on Nazi Germany. the sent two monkeys to space, one from in 2011 and one in 2013. the 2011 one was the monkey with the mole, which it died. the brown monkey was the one in 2013 which the Iranian news filmed the monkey before launch and after landing. the Western media made a mistake(did iran a favour) to tell that the monkey to space was a hoax. that Jet was a mockup. but they flied the prototype sometimes before that. they were just trying to show how it looks and you'll later see its departure and landing at the Iranian air show. it looks weird but that's what everyone said about the F-117 before its operation. don't be so prejudice. Did you know (from Wiki) Iran possesses the technology to launch superfast anti-submarine rockets which can travel at the speed of 100 meters per second under water, making the country second only to Russia in possessing the technology. Iran is among the five countries in the world to have developed amunitions with laser targeting technology. Iran is among the few countries that possess the technological know-how of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) fitted with scanning and reconnaissance systems. Iran is among the 12 countries with missile technology. Just think, there are nearly 200 countries in the world. 27 of them in Europe who is meant to be technologically advanced. Yet Iran is among top 7 in many areas and top 12 in many many others. Don't forget the rabit and the hare story. There is a lesson to be learnt in this story for many of you posters |
