Famed US military sniper killed at shooting range
A former US Navy SEAL sniper credited with killing more than 150 insurgents in Iraq has been shot to death at a firing range in Texas.

The death of Chris Kyle, 38, was confirmed by FITCO Cares, a foundation he helped start that worked with returning soldiers to help them cope with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Kyle died Saturday at a firing range in Glen Rose, Texas, while helping a soldier recovering from the condition, an ABC affiliate in Dallas, WFAA-TV, reported. A neighbor of Kyle was also killed.

A suspect has been arrested, and was identified as 25-year-old Eddie Routh. WFAA-TV quoted investigators as saying Routh is a former Marine who is believed to suffer from PTSD.

The story is all over our local talk radio this morning.

Military's deadliest sniper killed on gun range of resort near Glen Rose

Kyle, 38, who is survived by a wife and two children, was the author of American Sniper, a 2012 autobiography.

He never disclosed exactly how many enemy combatants he shot, but the Pentagon certified more than 150 of his kills during four tours in Iraq. Some news reports credited him with up to 255. His confirmed kills exceeded the exploits of legendary Marine Carlos Hathcock, whom Kyle called "the best sniper in the world." Hathcock had 93 confirmed kills in Vietnam.

In all, Kyle was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.

According to Army intelligence, he said, Iraqi insurgents nicknamed him al-Shaitan Ramad -- "the Devil of Ramadi."

After the service, Kyle became president of Craft International, a Dallas firm that provided military and law enforcement sniper training as well as private security.

The deadliest sniper in U.S. military history was scheduled to speak Feb. 27 at Tarrant County College Northwest Campus in Fort Worth. The four-hour presentation, "Preparing a Warrior's Heart," was to cover having the "mindset" for survival, being prepared for a fight and "being OK in the aftermath."

 Quoting: CowgirlK

Kyle was sued by former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura over a portion of the book that claims Kyle punched Ventura in a 2006 bar fight over unpatriotic remarks. Ventura says the punch never happened and that the claim by Kyle defamed him.

Kyle had asked that Ventura's claims of invasion of privacy and "unjust enrichment" be dismissed, saying there was no legal basis for them. But a federal judge said the lawsuit should proceed. Both sides were told to be ready for trial by Aug. 1.

suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome.

more likely that the chip they planted in his head was activated by his handlers and he carried out their mission. Question is, to what end? What is the end game with all of these killings.

Back in the early 2000's they were busy killing off all of the Biologist, now it is people who stand up for our freedom!!!

You got it. They don't want a man like Chris training people or defending the Constitution. How many gun advocates have been killed in the past month or so? I've lost count. This is a sad day for Americans.

Not to be too mean, but, while the man was only doing his job, his job was murdering people. What were the odds that he only killed the guilty?

He didn't question them first, they just looked right and were in places he was allowed to shoot. The government couldn't even confirm that he killed over a hundred of them?

So they also don't know if they were innocent or not.

Don't get me wrong, I don't actually care. I'm all evil that way. I just wanted to point out that most hero's aren't also serial murderers.

You can say that he wasn't either, but he sure killed a lot of folks, didn't he?

A lot of weird news stories coming out recently..mostly all involve guns and all of these people going off the deep end and killing people..and that guy who took the little boy hostage..and not even counting local news stories around that don't make national news..

One of 2 things is going on....

1. either all of these people are really this crazy..if so, why?? what is happening to make all these people go off the deep end this badly??

2. It's not what it seems and there are "other" forces behind this..either previously brainwashed or programmed people are being activated with triggers..and it really is a conspiracy..or it is a supernatural demonic force that has possessed people.

Something is going on.

Obummer said he doesn't want military vets getting weapon permits ... because of PTSD and other disorders.
I'm guessing he also fears them because they have combat experience, they can organize a rag-tag militia, and aren't going to be afraid to pull the trigger when they need to.
