Simple fix.. knock the walls out of every spare room in the house, replace the doors with archways and or extend the common rooms around it.

If you're really cleaver you could apply for a government energy/infrastructure grant to pay for the renovations..

If they don't need the space, they should move.

If you take money from the government they are allowed to set the conditions. The solution isn't riots, it's individual responsibility.

For too long the left wing was in charge, and they did what leftists always do, the same things they are doing in the US now. They encumbered businesses with idiotic regulations, and scorn and punish success.

Now businesses have abandoned your shores in droves, high-value earners have chased their jobs to Singapore and Hong Kong, and vast swathes of your people are soft and dependent, with an expectation of a government-guaranteed lifestyle that far outstrips the value they generate to society and, therefore, the taxes they pay.

Unfortunately, your government is now bankrupt. There's no more money for them to use to buy the bread and circuses they entertained you with while they were destroying your economy. So now, much too late, the reality of the result of more than a decade of Labour Government rule is setting in.

It's not pleasant to watch as more and more Brits (and Euros in general) awaken from the specious dream of socialism to the cold light of morning in the real world. However, awaken you must, and there's nobody you can attack or riot in front of who can help you reclaim the dream, since it was never real in the first place. You will only succeed in damaging your own neighborhoods, and divert government money away from your problems and into law enforcement and damage control.

If anything good could possibly come of this, it is that the next generation of Brits will come to more closely resemble the gritty heroes of the WWII generation. It's unbelievable that the same nation that stared down the Nazis with iron will, indomitable spirit, and almost superhuman sacrifice, sired a generation of weak-willed pussies who make no connection between contribution to society and their own lives and livelihood.

It's a brilliant idea in my street I'm surrounded by little old ladies that live in big four bedroom houses they all need to get the fuck out and let young families have a place to live.

It's not as drastic as OP is making out. Basically people in social housing, with more bedrooms than they use will be asked to pay up or relocate. They will be allowed to sublet the spare room to cover the tax if they choose to. I agree with OP's sentiment but this is not the spark we need.

Bear in mind this only applies to government subsidised housing. You own your house you can have ten spare bedrooms if you like. Imagine it was across the board though, think of the bill for Buckingham palace
