Re: uk bedroom tax,the road to riots
Listen, I pay my own way and when I can't afford where I live or need a bigger/smaller place I leave and find one. Others should do the same especially when I am footing their bill. What part of this don't you get? I am suppose to pay for a stable life for someone who has too many rooms to live in and who won't work? Or who makes a job out of scamming me?

You go ahead and give you paychecks to some family so they can sit on their asses and have tons of kids and not work or not even try to find work while you work your fingers to the bone for them. And then you may see things differently!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1550123

You are angry at strangers because you see none of them as your community. You do not want to help those below you because you do not know them, or did not know them for long.

You move frequently, have little roots, and are proud of the fact. You let circumstance and minor financial changes uproot you at any given moment. Your country and lifestyle have told you this is something to be proud of and you are proud. Live that. I'm not asking you to break your training..I'm not your deprogrammer. I am happy for you that you are enjoying your life within the system.
Quoting: The Lump Under the Carpet

I am enjoying my life because I pay my own way. And I help others as well by choice. I also help them by force because of the taxes that are taken from MY paycheck.

What is your issue? That those living on taxpayers money should be left alone to do as they please? That is what it sounds like.

Oh, and if I did have to take taxpayers money so I could live I would be grateful for ANY PLACE TO LIVE.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS YET?

Beggars can't be choosers. For you not to understand this would mean you are glad to support those that won't support themselves or you are living off the taxpayers.

Probably. However, what you need to do is ask yourself a question.

How the fuck is a 70 year old person still living in a council house?

What the hell did they do with their lives for 50 odd years that meant they had nothing to show for it?

My grandparents and parents got fucking jobs and bought houses.

The immigrants are not really the problem, they are a symptom of a unsustainable culture of socialist entitlement.

They come here because we give everything away for free.

The difference in the past was the family supported everything, now the government supports everything, and the government wont say no so long as they can print money and influence votes.

Family wont give drug addict and aloholic money until they make the rest of the family homeless, but the government will just pay out for welfare programs until the money starts running out.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33792358

They worked for peanuts, sweeping your roads, cleaning public toilets. People who live in council houses more often than not, work for nothing. Minimum wage or should I call it maximun wage?

This is why they can never save or move on, pay a decent wage to ALL workers and perhaps they would be able to buy their own property. Pay them £200 per week and what do you expect?

Bankers and politicians fucked this country and now they want to blame someone. Who better than people who cannot defend themselves?

All workers working for minimum wage are basically working for the equivalent in benefits. They are working, but in reality they are on the dole, they just don't know it.

If all cleaners and retail workers etc etc stopped working the country would grind to a halt, so why is it these people are treated so badly, paid peanuts and called scroungers.

People need to open their eyes. Anyone agreeing that the poor should be made to suffer further are just ugly, greedy, selfish and probably lonely people.

What about the bankers who lie, cheat and steal. Or MP's that lie cheat and steal?

Tax avoidence etc. £20,000 lunches for politicians etc.

As for Cameroon and his bunch what qualitifcations or real jobs have they ever had? Are they self made millionaires
or did they inherit? (same as receiving benefits in my book).

This attack on the poor is going to hit hard working (minimum wage earners)young families and families with same sex children very hard. And you people think it is fair? And Right?

SHAME ON YOU ALL. I hope you are financially secure and your business never fails or you lose everything through a messy divorce!! Don't kick these people while they are down. Have a heart.

And no you are not paying for them, you are paying for bankers mistakes and the lavish lifesytles of the MP's etc.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33874624

yes but the social system should not be a lifestyle choice as many have now made it, it should only be for those bad times. so hopefully, once the benefits start drying up, it will kick their lazy asses in to gear. and for the young girls(kids) having more kids, maybe it will discourage this sort of beahoviour. its all just too comfortable at the moment and that has to change.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23956419

"lifestyle choice". Do you really think checkout girls and shelf stackers etc really enjoy their lifestyle? Do you not believe these people if they could, would prefer more money and their own house?

You are mad, without meaning to be rude, most of these people do not have the education or skills to move on and so they are taken advantage of.

And because you are more successful you point your finger rather than being grateful for your life. Without these people you wouldn't feel as rich??
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33874624

If checkout girls want more money then they need to make it. Go back and get an education and try to better themselves. No one is entitled to anything.

And if they don't want to go back to school then they need to be happy for taxpayer lodging. But most people are not grateful and they feel entitled. These people are dangerous.

I know all about jealous people who will turn on those who have more than they do, even those in their own community, even if they earned all of it.

I'm onto your bullshit and those like you and im not scared of your violence, ill meet it with equal or more violence if and when i need to.

You cant threaten those who are not weaker than you. I earned everything i have and so did my family. I will not be intimidated by a bunch of entitled socialist pricks.

hey who doesnt want more money? i will never apologise for wanting to better myself and have always strived to do just that. sadly, the same cannot be said for a large portion of the claimant community who increasing see benefits as there god given right, and not as the stop gap safety measure that they were intended as.

yeah there are shelf stackers, yes there are checkout girls. this is society, there will always be winners and go getters, and there will always be sheep willing to fall in line. it is up the individual to lift themselves up from this existence. i don't see why i should have to pay for it.

Apparently local government has been allocated some funds for the ones that the law was not intended to affect; so, they know this is an over-simplistic rule that will be unfair to some. It'll force people through the appeal system hoops, same as the sickness/disability benefit cuts did.

God the working poor do nothing but whine whine whine. Can't they be happy with the wages we give them? The ungrateful twats. Instead they sit here crying that the other guy got a pretty council flat. Meanwhile these annoying working poor can't afford a tiny bit off of their own taxes to pay for it because they're so poor (but they will puff up their chests and tell you they're not and show you the shiny car they bought on credit, the poor sods).

Read her postings and you will see she thinks that the taxpayer is obligated to give non-working people a stable life with no say in it. This is what normal, honest, sane people are up against. I just happen to know reality and that you're headed for a state funded heart attack with all of that anger. But don't worry, you'll rationalize the hundreds of thousands of tax dollars spent when you get there.

 Quoting: Alexander

That wont work, this is basically a tax on tenants who have rented accommodation, the specification of the house is applied.

IE a single person living in a home with 1 or 2 spare bedrooms will have to pay if those bedrooms are not being utilized under specific rules.

Greece doesn't have handouts or the problems that come with them. People are taking care of themselves by getting room mates, moving in with family or moving out to the country to start back farming. They are still a proud people who would rather live in their cars until they get back on their feet.

People who are judged to be “under occupying” their home by one bedroom will have their housing benefit slashed by 14 per cent. Where they are under occupying by two or more bedrooms the deduction is 25 per cent.

So I take it the 'House of Windsor' is about to be hit be a huge tax bill...
