However, I always carried a jewel-studded cigarette case in which, instead of tobacco, were carefully placed several mustaches, Adolphe Menjou style. I offered them politely to my friends: "Mustache? Mustache? Mustache?" Nobody dared to touch them. This was my test regarding the sacred aspect of mustaches.” |

Never try to correct them. On the contrary: rationalize them, understand them thoroughly. After that, it will be possible for you to sublimate them.” ― Salvador Dalí oops! In the spirit of that quote, I'd better take back that edit. This is before my mistaken edit. I will rationaize ― and try to understand it, and just perhaps, maybe, be able to sublimate it ;) Last Edited by ehecatl on 02/03/2013 01:26 PM |

I prefer Eraserhead by David Lynch honestly, which does not disgust me quite so much, but seems similar in many ways. This time I watched it all, and am still disgusted with it, although I see that it is metaphorical. Thank you anyhow. I saw one of his museums in St petersburg, FL (or dedicated to his art). Awesome! I bought some copies of his art. I have wondered if there are in end times signs or hidden messages in his art? Have you ever looked for that or meaning? His art can be pretty trippy! |

His paintings not only anticipate the psychic crisis which produced our glaucous paradise, but document the uncertain pleasures of living within it. The great twin leitmotifs of the 20th century — sex and paranoia — preside over his life, as over ours." J. G. Ballard, "Introduction" to Diary of a Genius (1974), by Salvador Dalí |
