NRA's LaPierre warns! -- univ. background checks = univ. registration! -- This message needs to spread far and wide.
I just made a thread a few days ago warning that universal background checks would require a universal federal registry to effectively enforce it.

you can see my previous thread here:
"Imminent threat to the 2nd amendment right now! NOT assault weapon ban or mag cap, its much worse !"
Thread: Imminent threat to the 2nd amendment right now! NOT assault weapon ban or mag cap, its much worse !

Today on Fox News Sunday, LaPierre is correctly equating universal background checks with a universal registry..
========================================================
"NRA likens universal checks to gun registry"
[link to www.wral.com]
The NRA's Wayne LaPierre tells "Fox News Sunday" that background checks for all gun purchases would lead to a universal registry of gun owners. Critics say such a registry could lead to taxes on guns or to confiscation.
=========================================================

Fox News is running replays of this. If anyone has the ability to record it for youtube, it would be very helpful.

The enemy are claiming that most NRA supporters support universal background checks. If true, its only because they dont understand what it means to actually enforce such a law.

In order for there to be universal federal background checks that are enforced, there absolutely has to be a universal federal registration in place.

Without a universal federal registration, anyone can still buy/sell/trade with anyone they want, and there is no way for government to prove when and with whom that transaction took place, who owned the firearm and when, so the individuals can claim anything they want, so there is no way to enforce the background check system.

Current background checks are enforced upon FFL's only, through their contract(license) with the government. The current background check is not enforceable upon private transactions.
Without a contract upon individuals(registration) there is no way to enforce a univ background check system upon them. They will be able to do as they please with firearm transactions and law enforcement cant do anything.

We've got to spread this message far and wide. The push for universal background checks is really a push for universal federal registration in disguise.

This is exactly what was done in England and Australia. Registration, then confiscation followed.

The federal gov has a contract that it must abide buy - the Constitution places limits upon the goverment, not the people. "The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

It is NOT a collective right. People do not lose any of their right to own firearms because someone else abuses that right. It is an individual right and it will not be taken.

That has already been pushed too far by the federal gov. Any further infringement at all shall not be accepted. Not an inch more.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting, home protection, self defense, or sporting arms. It is about the ability to keep and bear battlefield weapons. A 'well regulated militia' is interpreted as a 'well armed and capable citizenry that is equipped for battle'.

The benefits of having an armed citizenry in America far outweigh the costs, and always will.

Those of us fighting for the preservation of rights are the ones truly fighting 'for the children.'

Do not accept anything further in terms of infringement.

Let it be known that you will not comply with any further infringement. 'Enough is enough.'

There is nothing to 'compromise.' Its about them 'taking' whats not to be taken. Its not 'compromise,' its 'infringement' of rights. Period.

Not an inch more.

When the tide turns towards universal background checks primarily, as it shortly will, make it known far and wide what its all about. The push for universal background checks is a push for universal federal registration in disguise.

Call your sheriff and let him know your feelings once the push gets to universal background checks. Do so in a freindly way. He is probably on your side more than you might know.

The Constitution does not give people rights to bear anything. The Constitution is a contract defining the gov and limits that the gov must abide by. The right to keep and bear arms by the people existed before the Constitution and is extraneous to it. The 2nd amendment keeps the gov
from infringing upon the already existing right to keep and bear arms. The Constitution doesnt 'specify' anything in this regards except what the gov cannot do, which it can be argued the gov has ALREADY gone too far in this respect.

- We are not to blame for Adam Lanza's actions or the actions of any other killer.
- The freedoms we employ do not wax and wane with how much or how little crime is committed by CRIMINALS with a gun, or any type of massacre that happens.
- The people who employ their freedoms are not responsible in anyway for what happened in Newtown or elsewhere. The person or persons committing those actions are responsible.
- WE are the ones really fighting for the protection of our children, not them.

The propaganda of the gov and those attempting to take power from the people would have you believe differently though. Most of us are above it however.

Protecting the lives of children is exactly why the second amendment exists. Those seeking to take it away do not truly care about children or the well-being of people, but are doing so for nefarious reasons and most of them actually wish for these events so that they can use them for they evil intents. THEY are the ones you should fear and/or be angry with, not us.

The threat of tyranny will always be a possibility as long as humans govern humans on this here planet.

There will always be a need for the 2nd amendment, and that need is just as strong today as it was in 1776 and will be just as strong 250 years from now. In fact, I'd say we have a far far stronger need for it today than in 1776.

We cannot allow the RKBA to be attacked. We must defend the RKBA, and that includes defending the right to keep and bear effective intermediate range fighting arms such as the AR-15 and AK and etc.

Are our lives or liberty or rights or freedoms or property or even our beliefs guaranteed the right to exist by a piece of paper or words alone?
- No.

The ONLY thing that ultimately guarantees anything you THINK you have rights to in this world is:
Force or the threat of force by someone or some group,
- in defense against anyone/group that would try to take it away from you.

The force can violent or nonviolent, but must be a force capable of inflicting significant enough harm or threat of harm to succeed over the adversary.

This is a fact that has always been, and always will be, a fact as long as humans exist on this planet.

Does the Constitution in and of itself guarantee your rights and freedoms?
Does God guarantee your rights and freedoms?
Is the property you own guaranteed by your deed alone?
Is the vehicle you own guaranteed by the title you hold in your hand?
Does anyone's words or writing guarantee anything you hold dear- your life, your property, your right to your children, your liberty, anything?
- No.

Force/violence or threat of force/violence can be by individuals, or by groups. Military, police, militias, gangs, individuals. The only requirement is the ability to use force or the threat of its use against uncooperative adversaries.

For example, the 'rights and freedoms' of our Constitution are ONLY guaranteed by those that would fight for it with violence/force or threat of violence/force- the military and police primarily at this point, but other groups and individuals as well. The Constitution is only as good as those who have agreed upon it and are willing to fight, with violence or threat of violence, or force or threat of force, for it. But if our government "went bad" and the Constitution was declared no longer in effect, it could simply happen at that point. If some group with enough power to reenforce it with force/violence or threat of force/violence acted in order to protect it and was successful, our Constitution would survive. Would the military and law enforcement do that, or would they support the new government and its decisions? Would the people have to act deliberately and coordinated in some manner, violent or nonviolent? Only God knows. That is just one example out of a million.

The examples include everything that you THINK you have rights to, including your life, your liberty, your property, your children, etc.

Your property is only as much yours as that which is backed by your willingness to fight for it, or by those willing to fight for it on your behalf, with force/violence or threat of force/violence, from those that would try to take it away.

Your life is only as much yours as that which is backed by your willingness to fight for it, or by those willing to fight for it on your behalf, with force/violence or threat of force/violence, from those that would try to take it away.

Your liberty is only as much yours as that which is backed by your willingness to fight for it, or by those willing to fight for it on your behalf, with force/violence or threat of force/violence, from those that would try to take it away.

Even your own conscious mind and freedom to think freely is only as much yours as that which is backed by your willingness to fight for it, or by those willing to fight for it on your behalf, with force/violence or threat of force/violence, from those that would try to take it away.

Nothing is ultimately ours unless we or someone else is, as last resort, willing and able to fight for it with whatever violent and/or forceful action is necessary to retain it, from those who would take it away.

The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime routinely do. But few saw the Third Reich coming until it was too late. The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed—where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.
