I don't believe that thyroid tumors could develop this rapidly. I have studied health physics professionally for more then 15 years, if you look at the literature tumors and cancers related to this kind of exposure take at least 5 or more years to develop.

I'm sorry for what happened at the nuclear plant in japan, but this kind of alarmism doesn't help anyone.

The fukushima accident and meltdowns represent the worst possible case for GE Mk1 reactors, and we are lucky because the containment structure actually did its job, even though it failed, MOST of the radioactive material stayed in the structure.

When it comes to thought-less emotional responses, the anti-nuclear people are as bad as the anti-gun people. If your really concerned about radiation and its impact on humans, go to school and hit the books.

Then how do you account for the Japanese reports of thyroid nodules being seen in such numbers? It's definitely a biostatisical abberation. It's clear that radiation manifests in the thyroid first. Are you suggesting that an alternative explanation? If so, then how?

I have studied the same and Phd, for 20 years... what you suggest and propose is illegitimate, preposterous, and ethically illegal, you know it, readers know it, and what you still suggest is clinical genocide given the current circumstance... what you speak of is tantamount to illegal genocide.

well that is a lie.. thyroid cancer is mostly a particulate cancer, that is shown by Irradiated Iodine... it can be masked by typicated Iodine, but only when caught early.. where are you referencing your sources?

Five stars CP. You have a good heart and are a credit to your nation.

I would not be surprised to see more and more documentaries like this. Here's what happened in Belarus. That's likely for Fukushima but in other zones based upon radioactive drift getting into the food chain. Shills can lie all they want, but in the end, radioactity concentrates in the people are causes birth defects, very high rates of cancer, massive increases in miscarriages, and all of that will eventutally happen in Fukushima.

There is a special place in Hell for those shills who lie about what's going on in Japan. They should fear for their souls.

"The Chernobyl disaster had an enormous impact on Belarus, a small country in Eastern Europe with a population of 10.4 million. 70 percent of the total radioactive fallout from the accident descended on nearly one-fourth of the country. The fallout affected more than 2.2 million people, including 500,000 children. Immediately after the accident, UN system organizations sought ways to provide emergency assistance to those exposed to massive amounts of radiation. Also, the UN system remained actively involved in dealing with the long-term effects of the disaster in Belarus. However, despite the assistance the international community has provided, the region still suffers from the consequences of Chernobyl today. "

"* Thyroid Cancer
: Thyroid cancer in children has increased since the disaster, particularly in the Gomel region of Belarus. The World Health Organization predicts that,in this region, 50,000 children will develop the disease during their lifetime. ThroughoutBelarus, the incidence of this rare disease in 1990 was 30 times higher than in the years
before the accident. (3)

Leukemia
In the Gomel region of Belarus, incidence of leukemia has increased 50% in children and adults. (4)

Other Diseases in Children. In addition to thyroid cancer and leukemia, UNICEF
reports that between 1990 and 1994, nervous system disorders increased by 43%; cardiovascular diseases by 43%; bone and muscle disorders by 62%; and diabetes by 28%. UNICEF cautioned that it is difficult to prove whether these increases were caused by radiation or another unknown factor.

Other Cancers
Swiss Medical Weekly
recently published findings showing a 40% increase in all kinds of cancers in Belarus between 1990 and 2000. (5) Some
tumor specialists fear that a variety of new cancers may emerge 20-30 years after the disaster. (6) Cases of breast cancer doubled between 1988 and 1999. (7)

Birth Defects
: Maternal exposure to radiation can cause severe organ and brain damage in an unborn child. Five years after the disaster, the Ukrainian Ministry of Health reported three times the normal rate of deformities and developmental
abnormalities in newborn children, as well as in increased number of miscarriages, premature births, and stillbirths."

Chernobyl did not 'technically' shut down, it was purely a series of very lucky circumstantial events that led to CNPP becoming 'cold' and stable, there was no scram effected 'shutdown', infact the irony at Pripyat CNPP was that the scram worsened the scenario due to poor control rod design.

Fukushima will never be brought under control, the option to control fissile material there came and went over a year ago.
