Maybe they need to find a way to create more jobs, so there aren't so many poor people...not spending money on something like this so that they can control the people.

In the end...it wouldn't be free...and because they would have a monopoly on the internet, they could charge whatever they wanted.

Agreed! If what the OP states is possible, it is definitely not desirable. That's all we need, no way to shelter oneself or loved ones from RF/EMF invasion/dangers/damage to our bodies, the food sources, our environment. Dumb and dangerous.

Sounds like some one or some thing is going to get us some TESLA tech finally. Shame it had to take about 100years of squeezing our pockets for this to finally be. (if it ever will be).

Seems odd that the cable companies would allow this without getting something huge in return. It would be easy to monitor but I often wonder how much paid internet is monitoring now. Sites like GLP would suffer even if you could access on paid internet because of loss of traffic from users of the free system. After Sandy Hook I have been waiting on some government regulation of the internet which they already have to some extent. I bet this would be used to cut out torrents and free streaming since people would be downloading non-stop on this.

You know something I thought of...all of these wireless devices, such as phones, tablets, even TVS and gaming systems, now have microphones and cameras in them. With this "penetrating" and far reaching internet, I would have to wonder how difficult it would be for the government to access all of these things? Heck, you saw that Facebook update posted a few days ago where they now automatically opt you in for your audio/video being recorded from your phone without your consent. Sounds truly like 1984 to me.
