Haha the bad information here is astounding.

Let me explain to you the reason why you think your Apple product is secure.

Malware has a two purposes.

1. Generate income

2. Provide unattended access to the attacker for collection of information and or monitoring of activities.

Viruses intended to generate income no longer need to be hid among legitimate software because the mass populous will voluntarily download such trash. Ads on "free apps" draw in thousands for a app that probably took less then a week to develop.

Now onto the second purpose. The second purpose is to provide unattended access to the attacker. This is used to steal identitys or perhaps use the system as a zombie node to start up a DDOS service. If the aim of the attacker is to control the device infected, then it would be counter productive for the attacker to give the user any warning of the potential infection, such as ads, increased memory or CPU usage. This has led developers of malware to realize their methods are counter productive.

The ensuing effect is that you believe that your Apple product is secure. We see this same effect in Windows 7,8. They are seemingly more secure because we do not notice the effects of an infection. Well in case you were wondering your Apple product is just as infected as any other current windows product. Your just not aware of it.

If you believe any device is secure your fooling yourself. Software cannot be produced flawlessly without security risks. Additional "security software" only leads to more options for a potential exploit to be found. I mean come on, Heartbleed was active for seven years before the exploit was noticed.
