We're sick of this shit and are planning to take it out of the 401K, take the tax hit and purchase gold coins. Back in 2006 a hard lesson was learned when putting 1k in a savings account at 3.4% interest - seven years later that 1K only earned $153 because they kept dropping the interest rate down to eventually .02%. In 2006, could have purchased 2 one-ounce gold coins for $560 apiece and tripled the investment with gold being over $1678.45 now. Savings accounts are a rip-off. Looks like the 401K may be headed down the same rip-off road.
