Well that's why I wanted to know if it was standard practice to give paid leave to first responders after they witness a murder.
If it is not standard practice, than it could also be perceived to be a payoff to stay home and keep quiet. As in "if you stay quiet about what you really saw that day, we will pay for you to stay home for the rest of your life" type of deal.
