Can you remember a time that you didn't utterly despise your government?
.

Sat down with the kids tonight and looked at some of the old
Schoolhouse Rock videos. Remember those from Saturday mornings?

I remember when I had such pride for my country and the liberty
it gave to us and our posterity.

I'm almost finding hard to recall those feelings anymore. sad

He was just window dressing.

Even then, Government was still small enough that it didn't
gobble up everything else around it.

Do you think it was really because we were so naive,
or lacked an innate understanding of government?

Gramps and Grandma weren't as cynical as Government as kids are
today -- even in elementary school.

I utterly despised my government during the Bush years.

Then Obama was elected and everything is lovely now. He saved the US from complete annihilation at the hands of the Bush cabal.

My president; my hero.

Well, I'm only 19. From when I was a kid I could see that America was not what it intended to be.

I hope we turn things around in my lifetime. That is the thing I wish for the most.

This was about 1986. I found a book in the Church library called None Dare Call It Treason. It was written about 1968 by John Stormer. I took it home and I read it. After reading that book I realized what a total sham it all was. That guy essentially was talking about globalism before it even had a name and how all governments were in on it. It was called communism back then in the old cold war days. He made a good case showing that Western governments were supporting it just as hard as they were fighting it.

Though dated now, that book was the one that gave me the genesis of my worldview today. A worldview that sees the state as the enemy of all mankind.

The level of degradation I've seen in society since I was 19(23 years ago) is utterly shocking. I can't even imagine how bad it will be when you reach you forties. If somebody would have told me in 1984 things would be this bad, I wouldn't have believed it.

I plan on doing my best to return this country back to what it once was. It would be the right thing to do, and I hope other people realize the same, and push for a change. And not Obama's kind of change, I'm talking an actual change that would put this country back in the direction it was intended to be in.

35+ years ago...they may have been a bunch of puritan old fucks, but they kept the enemy at bay and looked after 'us'.
I'd trade the 'freedom' of porn and liquor on sunday for a country where murder is actually illegal anyday :-)

I can remember all the way back to the 1960s. From then to now I can not ever remember them passing one single law that I thought "Gee, that is a great law".

Each law is worse than the last one. They just get progressively worse for the average person. All seem to be written and for the benefit of Corporations.

I am near 50 now, I haven't pride about our government since after the Cuban missile crisis.

As a kid, most kids in my era were told they could be anything they wanted to be, even President, and the kids believed it and some of their parents did too.

In my teen years there were no kid gangs, if anyone in school was hanging in bunches it was usually the gals planning what to wear the next day. We had Mini skirt day, midi Day and blue jeans day.ect..that was "our gang activity" LOL

Being a military brat, I did learn kind of young about my Mom not liking the military much even though she had respect for the USA and everyone payed respect to any Commander in Chief.

Now, the more I learned over the years I can now clearly and honestly state that, I despise the Government, the FEDs, the IRS, the FDA, the CDC, the WHO and the Commander in chief and let's not forget the ever toxic NRC.
