BREAKING: Justice Department memo reveals legal case for drone strikes on Americans! | |
An Average American Patriot User ID: 33182949 United States 02/04/2013 10:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This pisses me off. These people are clear enemies of the republic and the U.S. Constitution. Eternal vigilance Is the price of liberty. Speak out and be heard. Be seen and get noticed. Stand up and be counted. Cherish freedom. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 30846516 United States 02/04/2013 10:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Brennan was the first administration official to publicly acknowledge drone strikes in a speech last year, calling them “consistent with the inherent right of self-defense.” So, they can use the drones to take out Americans who they feel pose a threat. No indictment or charges needed. Looks like they have their bases covered. Go to camp (NDAA) or get droned out. |

Seriously, get a grip. You guys have no problems with police helicopters, why would drones be a problem?? to me they seem like a natural evolution and the police departments would save money for the tax payer as drones are cheap to run. ------------------------------------------------------------- Police helicopters have been part of our world for decades, what makes you think that drones are not the best replacement? A drone is CHEAP and does not pollute the environment like conventional helicopters do. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 30846516 United States 02/04/2013 11:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here's a little more. Apparently it's not assassination, it's self defense... “A lawful killing in self-defense is not an assassination,” the white paper reads. “In the Department’s view, a lethal operation conducted against a U.S. citizen whose conduct poses an imminent threat of violent attack against the United States would be a legitimate act of national self-defense that would not violate the assassination ban. Similarly, the use of lethal force, consistent with the laws of war, against an individual who is a legitimate military target would be lawful and would not violate the assassination ban.” |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21427624 Canada 02/04/2013 11:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The crazy thing is that somehow a memo can even legalize and justify assassination, er, targeted killings , of American citizens and everyone else buys it. That you could even propose this and have it taken seriously is the scariest part, IMHO. Since when does writing shit on paper make it ok? Why does it hold any weight at all? |

It is only within the artificial bubble of civil society that the legal system operates - same situation as 'international law' really. Your only safeguard as citizens is to make sure you elect decent honorable moral people - which you have failed to do.........................so basically you are fucked. Alll the misdirection and hoopla over the yrs about the nast old CIA running amock with death squads was put up by the Marxists and Commies because they hadn't taken over the system yet - now they have - all the lefty idiots are going to be all for, bumping off terrorist and dangerous subversives - (so long as they are the Christian Patriot variety) |
