The Swiss will close the border at the first sign of collapse, think about it, Switzerland is an island smack in the middle of Europe and on one side 100,000 people are trying to enter from Italy on the other side will be French and Germans and Spaniards and whoever else is trying to protect a little wealth or get away from the riots. You will be stuck in a traffic jam at a closed border until you run out of fuel. Then what? You need to get into Switzerland days before the crash, weeks even. |

IFUN, just a thought a bit irrelavant but also very relavant to all the situation we live here. I think that the biggest mistake that the Athenians did during the Golden Age was the definition of the Democracy. Not as a democracy but the fact that they didn't state that this is the best that they could provide for the time being. I think from that point humanity felt comfortably with the idea of democracy and never tried to find something better. It provided an excuse for the future generations not to improve them selves. I dont know what can be better than democracy but I think we need to try to find out. Humanities destination is to keep becoming better and better. Are we already at the state to say that we've reached the perfect. I think not. Just my thoughts. Love responsibility, keep saying, I alone will save the world If it gets lost, myself only is responsible N.Kazantzakis |

Democracy in ancient Greece has nothing to do with today's democracy imo, which is understandable to some extent because of the enormous global population today and the need of the TPTB to control it. In ancient Athens people had direct democracy and a say for every single thing, which is obvious not the case today as we elect puppets in what we call representative democracy. I believe that if we had direct democracy people would have a bigger control on many matters, but corporations are today's oligarchs, can't let us have that one and even if they did, it would probably come with a cost. We'll all become better if we find true democracy and not the illusion we currently try to sell as a democracy. We are far from perfect and we've been spoiled to reach to the point of selling most of our basic rights, awareness is one of the most important things that humanity as a collective whole needs to better asap, i believe most of the good things will come after that. |

How about you all go back to personal responsibility for your own lives. Realize governments are not supposed to provide anyone with anything. Once you get off the government teats you wont have to keep worrying about governments who keep screwing you over. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 33292068 Mexico 02/05/2013 07:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Funny how countries blame the UK and Sweden for not entering ehen the fault is of Europe alone. Perhaps the best way forward is for each european member to return to their own curriencies or leave the EU outright, because all those contributions demanded by the EU have damaged the individual countries more than if rhey had opted out. The UK has always had a very strong currency and EU members arepissed that they didn't take the UK down with them. Also, if the aim was to compete against the dollar, it is clear he dollar is being weakend in the global arena and the Chinese Rmb is about to take over backed by gold and not debt. If countries still remain in the EU theu will only fall further and austerity options will leave the countries in a worse state than when they first entered. The UK and Sweden, if they decided to join now would only damage their own economies whislt pumping their funds into an already failing ideal so why should they pay to pick up the pieces? |

[link to etfdailynews.com] You are aware that Boris Johnson, arch austerity man, has done a U turn now that businesses are hurting in the UK. At the end of the day, conservative parties worldwide are funded by business owners. If austerity threatens to destroy them, they will turn to interventionist capitalism in a blink and advocates such as you are irrelevant. Workers of the World, Unite.
