Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2199611 I know a guy that did this... 200 bucks. Said he felt like a horse while the elders checked him out, grabbing his ass and arms to see if he was "good stock"... lol Apparently the elders stayed for the show as well. YUCK. I have business experience with the Hutterites up there. They used to assemble Geothermal heat pumps for my company. They sucked. Great work quality, assholes to do business with--They keep trying to change the contracts! Next time get them to throw in a romp in the hay with one of the Mrs... People can be kind of cranky though, depending on where you go. I will tell you honestly the worst part about Canada for me personally ( and maybe it is because of where I live, Toronto), is the fact that so much has changed here in the last few decades. Constant development and expansion in the GTA makes the city of my youth almost unrecognizable. We also have a lot of left wingers here in Toronto, the rabid type too, who have assisted in the condofication and dismantling of this once great city. Another thing that tends to bug me is the influx of immigrants, and by immigrants I mean non assimilating types who have taken over entire quadrants of this city. Goes back to the city of my youth being unrecognizable. I have nothing against immigrants per se, but I have a problem with the way that modern ones( Mostly south asians, middle eastern and ex soviets and other assorted refugees) have no love for the country, whine about it, demand change and use the system. They are unlike my parents generation who worked their butts off to build a country and a home and were appreciative of the opportunity they got. They wouldn't dare make waves or file BS lawsuits like others and they sure as heck didnt make bones about religion. They would also rather starve and die than rely on the system. Oh yeah, there is also a modern day sodom and gomorrah in Toronto, namely the gay parade that people actually bring their kids too! That kind of disappoints me. We are also moving to a cookie cutter type of retail operation here, which annoys me.We underwent a major de industrialization similar to other manufacturing hubs like Detroit, Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Our saving grace is that 1/3 of the population of the country lives within 100km of the city, so other businesses have popped up to replace them, and we have a lot of manufacturuers who moved to the outskirts.Seems like every city is the same now, with the same bs stores. A ton of industrial and commercial land has been swallowed for high density retail or residential. Bad for business in the core, where one time it was highly affordable and you could find suitable real estate for business use. Lastly, I miss Maple leaf Village. The good news is after all these years I am finally surrendering the city to the miscreants, the sickos , the commies and the pervs. I am moving to another city thank God and the only thing I will really miss about the current city is the wonderful valley right in the middle of the city. I visit their weekly, used to ride my dirt bike down there as a teenager ( until they commandeered that trail and turned it into a bike path). |

Always have. Quebec always wants to have its own country. Canada is beautiful and lovely and still has wide open spaces and lots of parks and clean water. Best place on Earth. I live in BC. Southwestern on a mountain. I will never leave. I love it so much where I am. Nobody around but close enough to town to still have a life and a job. More snow up on the mountain but who cares. You get equipment and deal with shit. Canadians are hardy people and still quite freindly. Ah I don't know what makes you think we live close to the border. Most stay as far from the border as we can get. No Offense. Doesn't get any colder here than alot of areas in the States. Actually BC is the California of Canada. Everybody comes to this province for recreation. Mostly the Fucking Albertans that drive to fast and are in a hurry to get everywhere and splat all the deer on the road. Fuckers. Were always glad when they go home. |

The market is insane out there. It skyrocketed just before the Olympics and overseas buyers have fucked it big time. Yeah, umm those oversea investors. Maybe your socialist politicians are responsible for it? Just sayin's. If we're talking about Vancouver, it's Asians buying up everything. And I'd take our "socialist politicians" over whatever type of zoo creatures you got running the place down there... you know it's bad when you go to the store to buy a dictionary and they only have in stock chinese-canadian dictionaries. crazy! I literally saw small groups of Asians coming up from the shore along Dollarton Highway on the North Shore once. They split into groups along the bus route at each stop (Not to arouse suspicion I'm assuming)and all had small handwritten maps. This was the first bus of the morning heading from Deep Cove to Lonsdale Quay. It was pretty obvious they just jumped ship. They looked like they hadn't showered for a while, all looked completely lost and whispering to each other as if we could understand what the fuck they were saying. Downside you can't carry it, can only use it at a range or gun club and 10 round magazines. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20791108 No handguns???? You can own one, but it's not easy.. and pointless to be honest.. I pulled this off a forum for you... This guy explains it well.. "I just got my Canadian Possession and acquisition Licence (PAL) after taking a week long course, passing two written exams (Aced em) paying $80.00 and waiting for 11 weeks, now in order to bring a handgun home I have to join a shooting club (no problem) and get a permit to transport the gun. If a modern handgun has a barrel length equal to or less than 4.125 inches (four and one eighth inches) it is prohibited and so the average mortal can't have one. Only Police,Military and specially licensed security guys can carry one. If you get caught with one on you jail is very likely and in my 60 years I have never seen a citizen carrying a gun" Patience is a virtue I just can't wait to achieve - CalmShock |

I lived in northern Ontario for six years and Yellowknife, Northwest Territories for ten. Of course some of the worst places in Canada are in the north too, like Fort McMurray and the tar sands. I worked that shithole for ten years too. I would say the worst thing about Canada for me is the family law system. I went through a divorce and the entire system is setup to make the men pay. Fortunately I had dual citizenship, so I fired my lawyer and told the judge, we have child support treaties around the world, so i will check in when I find a job outside of your jurisdiction. I still came back to Canada though. Paid child support, bought a house, put my children through university and then put myself through college. It's a good life if you don't weaken. The crime rate in the north is pretty horrendous too. The rape, homicides, and substance abuse on the reserves are worse than inner city Detroit. But even on the reserves, you will meet some great people. |

Lots of people have things they are not supposed to have. Shit what country do you know where everybody plays by the rules. Guns are everywhere. Everybody has guns in Canada. Long Rifles don't need to be registered. They threw that rule out last year. |

When i lived in Yellowknife, it seemed like all the miners owned handguns. they were always having these crazy shooting games at the gunclub. I remember one called "Hostile takeover" You sat down at a boardroom table full of targets. You were given a list of targets around the table to shoot and you had to draw your gun and kill only the ones on the list. So you are not allowed to carry a handgun driving down the street, but who the hell is going to stop you from carrying a handgun in the bush? Anyway we don't need a second amendment. Our militia is integral to our defense and well connected. |
