CNN) -- Look out for Asteroid 2012 DA14.
It is heading toward Earth at 17,450 miles per hour, according to NASA, and the tug of our planet's gravitational field will cause it to accelerate when it gets here.

I love this part:

...

Rather than jumping to ridiculous conclusions and assuming bad motives in others, how about informing yourself first. Then you won't end up making ignorant posts; it will NOT impact us and it is approaching from the south to the north; it won't be visible to any telescopes in Arizona until well after it passes the point of closest approach on the 15th! It doesn't even get 20 degrees high up in the sky in Arizona until the 16th GMT time (the timezone of astronomy). It's not a secret message, it's basic astronomy. Look up the azimuth and altitude of this asteroid at every hour over the next few days as seen from Arizona and you'll see what I mean (yes, you'll need to adjust the table settings to include apparent az, alt):
[link to ssd.jpl.nasa.gov]
 Quoting: Dr. Astro

Wow! Now THAT was harsh, Dr. Astro.
 Quoting: SilentlyKnowing

You needed to hear it. Did you even do as I suggested and check for yourself when the asteroid can be seen from Arizona? You can continue to spew all the woo woo nonsense you want, I won't stop you, but do know that it is just nonsense. When it fails to hit us on the 15th, despite your "occult beliefs" to the contrary, I wonder if you'll come back here and admit that you were completely wrong?
 Quoting: Dr. Astro

Sorry....I don't need to hear anything from you. You do not inform...
 Quoting: SilentlyKnowing

Yes, I do.
Thread: 2012 DA14 - Satellite Collision Risk - Now Ruled Out with New Data on Page 2!!!
Now, who else here informed you of which specific satellites might be at risk, if indeed any are? No one. No one at all. So do not tell that I do not inform people.
The movie "Deep Impact" could very well have had some psy-op material in it.
 Quoting: silent

That's what they said about Elenin. Over and over... Then when that failed they said it about 2005 YU55... Then when that failed, now they say it about 2012 DA14. It never changes and some people never learn.

with a major public statement..
it is merely words on a page.

Even if someone did that.. and they have... there are believers and detractors.

Interesting.

[snip]

The uncertainties in plane-of-sky position, Doppler frequency, and time delay will grow dramatically
during the approach, but even so, this object cannot impact Earth during this encounter.

We need additional astrometry to improve the orbit. As a result, below we list circumstances for optical
observations starting many months before the encounter in order to help facilitate observations
by optical observers. The apparent magnitudes will be fainter than 22nd until until the beginning of
February, but the solar elongation will be only about 60 degrees, so obtaining optical astrometry
will be challenging. In addition, the asteroid will be at far southern declinations until Feb. 15
when it will move from about -75 deg to +75 deg in only a few hours.

That does not matter. If you believe that my analysis is false or fake it's up to you to prove it. The burden of proof is on the claimant. It has been shown repeatedly that this asteroid will not hit us. If someone wishes to show otherwise the ball is in their court. Even if all they want to do is instill fear and doubt, the ball is still in their court to show that there is something wrong with the analysis.

What's your point? I said some time ago that Arizona (in other words, northern hemisphere locations) won't be able to see it until late on the 15th. I've also shown repeatedly in my videos that the uncertainty starts to increase after the close approach due to earth's gravity being such a strong factor. Neither of those things indicate any uncertainty in whether the damn thing is going to hit us this time or not. And thanks to new astrometry last month from the southern hemisphere we can rule out impact possibilities for nearly a hundred years. Of course this close approach provides a very important opportunity to collect much more astrometric data at a critical point in the object's orbit, so naturally they want as many to observe it as possible. This opportunity may help to nail down the orbit even farther into the future.

Wouldn't that mean all you are doing is promoting EXACTLY what the op said tptb WOULD promote until the time comes for "full" disclosure of the actual circumstance?????

You're either gullible, narcissistic, egotistical, or have a very set agenda you can not stray away from, risk retribution from some higher source that gives you the ability to do and say with your level of "authority".

Wasn't the op's entire point the trajectory information publicly available has been modified to show a relatively harmless course????

Wouldn't that mean all you are doing is promoting EXACTLY what the op said tptb WOULD promote until the time comes for "full" disclosure of the actual circumstance?????

You're either gullible, narcissistic, egotistical, or have a very set agenda you can not stray away from, risk retribution from some higher source that gives you the ability to do and say with your level of "authority".

My bet is placed on "all of the above".....

Get a life astro you made this thread what it is; op was done with it 13 pages ago bro....

There is one set of publicly available data.
Each astronomer, professional and backyard does
their own observations and has their own trajectory
data.
Ask your local astronomer.

There's a guy in my little hometown in Arkansas
who's had several bodies named after him.
His obseratory looks like a big toolshed,
until he slides the roof off.
