almost two million megatons. this tiny asteroid will have nowhere near that much energy, and it isnt moving nearly fast enough to have that much. the velocity is actually ~11,000km/h, and it will be slowed considerably by the atmosphere, so we can assume an impact velocity around 1/3rd that or ~3500km/h. the mass would also reduce somewhat, so lets say ~100,000metric tons. the energy release would then be 0.011295602879429 Mt. or, 11 kilotons, a small tactical-use nuclear weapon.

During TMI programs Timeline and Starlines / SL2, doing in effect a remote viewing on 2020 and 2012, this item came up last round: something associated more with 2013, than 2012. I am not one to subscribe to prophesies and catastrophic hyperbole, and I am not stating this as such.
The Mayans chose to mark one of their major cycles in conjunction with the general crossing of the Sun at Winter Solstice at the Galactic Center/Dark Rift (range is more like 1960-2240, closer from 1998-2016). Also check here for other aligments. With that out of the way...

After the massively public failure of the December 21, 2012 Mayan doom prediction, I'm impressed that anyone can reference the Mayans with a straight face (nevermind wondering how the Mayans could have events in their calendar when their calendar ended 2 months prior to the event ...)

Worse case scenario, an impact is being hid from us because as a species, we could not maturely handle the potential consequences.
