Anonymous Coward User ID: 33724411 Germany 02/07/2013 04:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The gravitational pull of the earth will in fact pull this baby in. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7052443 The impact site is unknown . The scientific data has purposely been altered to cover this story up. Even certain shills on this website have gone far enough to post trumped up data on this in the form of youtube video, and this person(s) are part of the cover up. I know a few people on the higher up scale that said it was orginally not supposed to hit but it has been confirmed their data was dead wrong. Lets just hope this thing doesnt land in a highly populated area. Your government will hold an emergency broadcast 2 days before the event. godspeed everyone.. i hope we get through this. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 32146848 United States 02/07/2013 05:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So what's the update from the NASA press conference? What did they have to say, anybody? Quoting: ExoPoliChick Seriously?? Is there a link?? Two of 'em have already been posted. They've adjusted the point of impact to be Elyria, OH, about 5 miles southeast of downtown. Since it's coming in on a more vertical flightpath than initially calculated, they recalculate the effect to be that of around 150+ Hiroshima bombs, which should bring the life toll to tad over 20 million dead.. right about the same percentage as the unemployment rate. The dust cloud should cover the entire eastern seaboard in about 3 to 4 feet of dust and ash, so the economy will most likely come to a screeching halt. An additional 45 to 50 million will be dying from the effects of the dust storm (inhalation, suffocation, that sort of thing), so we'll be losing a total of around a sixth of the US population. |

Asteroid 2012 DA14 To Pass Very Close to the Earth on February 15, 2013 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33720071 February 1, 2013 The small near-Earth asteroid 2012 DA14 will pass very close to the Earth on February 15, 2013, so close that the asteroid will pass inside the ring of geosynchronous weather and communication s satellites. NASA's NEO Program Office can accurately predict the asteroid's path with the observations obtained, and it is therefore known, there is no chance that the asteroid might be on a collision course with the Earth. ... because there is a highly probable chance that it IS on a collsion course with Earth? This was in a news story on the net at one time but has since been scrubbed. It was leaked from the minutes of a meeting of the worlds prominent astronomers that took place in 2005 in Europe. This is not big enough to cause an ELE, but it could level a city the size of Manhatten |

The actual number of Hiroshima bombs this thing will emulate is like 90, and seeing that the Hiroshima bomb took out 150,000 people, we're looking at 13,500,000 dead. That's about 6% of the US population, which is about 2% lower than the current unemployment rate. This ain't exactly doom, yo.. Seriously?? Is there a link?? No, he's pulling your leg.
