If its only those two programs than yes they open ports to Akamai technologies which is a update warehouse for software, I was under the assumption multiple ment many not two.

No, they do not automatically update themselves. I'm still running an old version of FindOrb on my desktop and it has never changed itself. I'm running a slightly newer version on my laptop, but it yields the same results as using the desktop.

You clearly have no idea what the hell you're talking about. I know for a fact that they do not update themselves. You were busted, don't be all butt hurt about it.

And if you actually watched the video to begin with you would know that FindOrb performs its monte carlos solutions by adding gaussian noise to the data. That's deliberate. It'll never be the same twice because the noise is by its nature random. Only the general shape of the distribution will be the same.

Yeah, ORSA provides the ability to download asteroid orbital elements, etc if desired by the user. Neither of them automatically update themselves, however. Both are open source as well, so if you claim it does, then show me where in the source code it does.

In orbital mechanics when one object has insignificant mass compared to the primary its mass can be ignored in the calculations.
You still get accurate results.

The reason for this is that smaller object doesn't have any effect on the primary, IOW the asteroid doesn't move Earth closer to it, it is only Earth that pulls the asteroid closer to it.
And we know exactly how much.



It's easy enough to check if the math module of such software still works correctly.
If it were EVERY POSITION given for EVERY OTHER CELESTIAL BODY would be WRONG.

because it says at the bottom that it draws the data from neo NASA but here is what NASA neo site has:

I am so tired of people trying to prove Dr. Astro wrong without doing a tenth of the work he puts into his posts.

If you think his calculations are wrong, run them yourself, and post them, so they can be checked. Don't just complain you think his program updates over the internet or pretend you have a degree so you must have a point.

it's a very small object though. Compared to the earth that is. Chances are, even if it did hit, it would be no where near you or me. Imagine a football field, then imagine throwing a rock onto the field. Where it lands, is the same chance of it landing near you. No worries friend. We'll live to see another day.

i see no one has commented on my observation that there are two different lines of data publicly displayed as being sourced from NASA Near Earth Object Program.

are these NASA feeds clean and up to date, or is this a little typo?

If I told you, 5 seconds of googling would reveal my name and address since very, very few people in my state get a PhD through this particular university. As a result, it was somewhat newsworthy when I entered the program. In fact the third link took me almost right to myself. The information from there can be used to narrow me down to one of two people and since only one of the two of us successfully completed the program, it narrows it the rest of the way down right to me.
