Well even though it must be painful, be glad you did not tie the knot with someone who could not weather the storms with you. Marriage has its highs and lows, but when two people love each other they can get through anything. Look at this more like a new beginning, rather than a heartbroken ending.

I would definitely talk to her and apologize if you somehow gave her the impression that you were hitting her. Let her know that is not/ was not your intention. You could kindly say that you did get the card for free and you were not going to use so rather than seeing it go to waste you thought you'd give it away.

Apologizing doesn't always mean you are admitting you're wrong but more of a gesture that you regret and feel bad for a response/action that was misunderstood and taken out of context and not for what it was not intended for. This is a nice excuse for the women who choose to treat men like garbage. The fact is, for the most part, you get what you give. If a woman's not being treated by men the way she wants to be treated, the problem is her. Don't take the easy way out with the lame excuse above.

I'm a happily married guy, 15 years +. Well, usually happy, there are some typical strains of longterm marriages, and I enjoy commiserating with others in my position too!

But that said, we who have, in one way or another, survived the dating minefield, perhaps enjoy passing on our wisdom. And from men and women both, it's generally not very politically correct. Truth is stranger than fiction, and if you approach the battle of the sexes with that mindset, you'll get an exciting and rewarding (not always comfortable or easy) experience.

That's the mindset that gets a guy friendzoned for sure.

Sorry, I cannot approve that as advice for my fellow guys.

Good for you! I love being married, and I married a great guy, who treats me very well. We are best friends and have survived many hard times that always taught us the really valuable lessons about life. We've had plenty of good times as well, too many at times and I never want this to end. I am so grateful to have him, I would hate to be single in this day and age, values and morals are long gone for many people.

And yes, wisdom is the sweetest gift from being married.
