Weird dreams lately...
This dream was similar to one I have had before a long time ago. The dream was that I was living in a house that had two levels. One was basement level, and another level that was ground level.
The basement level had everything that the ground floor level had: kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms etc.
The basement level wasn't as nice, the kitchen sink was taken out and just the pipe was there that could be turned on and off for water. Apparently in the dream,we chose to live in the basement level. Wood floorboards were placed down over dirt for the floor, and in many areas were were taking off the floor boards and digging underneath, looking for something, but I don't know what. Something hidden I guess.

I don't really know what this means, but it would be nice to have a house like that, even though the basement was unfinished mostly. I just wonder if the dream could be symbolic in some way.

I don´t know much about dream symbolism, but i would take this dream literarilly:

you´re living not in the best condition you could.
better conditions are just 1 level away...

think about it - which part of your life could be easily improved if you only decide to move one level up?

Re: Weird dreams lately...
Here is the thing, I am paying rent way out of my price range and am living in the "upper level" that is, I have a nice home, but in return for that, I am too broke to enjoy life.
There is never any extra money. I know I need to downgrade to the "lower level" if I want to live better. I didn't see my husband in the dream either, and he causes my unhappiness much of the time. He can be quite hurtful with thoughtless word, but I know he loves me. He is just a big asshole. It comes from bad parenting that he endured from his dad. I have to remind him of what not to say to my boys.
Could this dream be saying that I would be happier if I downgraded to lower level in my life, even if that means not living in a nicer home, but free from alot of things that make me sad?
The mood of the dream was I was making do of the situation. The water wasn't "right" it needed work. The house needed repairs, but I was living with it. I understand your interpretation of the upper level part. It does seem that a better life is just out of my grasp. A better life, not so much materially, but being happy.
What about the digging part?

I think that you are 'already' living on the bottom level and only trying to convince yourself that you're not.

The digging is you preparing an even lower level to make it a habitat where you fear you will be living soon.

Yes, I think you are fearful of losing everything, including your husband, who abuses you verbally, and you are denying it to yourself.

But......what the hell do I know?

Re: Weird dreams lately...
Hi Skyblau,

well.. i would go with what you related to, but it´s just me.
it could just be a dream with no meaning at all.
but as it makes you think about how to interpret it, it seems to have a purpose..

i thought about the diggin part...if you take this literarilly, too, it shows you are digging to find something, but you don´t know what you´re looking for.
as well you are digging on the "bad" level.
try to go back to the feeling you had when doing this in your dream.
maybe you were digging for some improvement, for a solution, but on the completely wrong level?

do you have any experience in lucid dreaming? if not, look up some threads here, there are many good descriptions about it.
try to dream this dream again in a lucid way, and move to the other level in this dream - and see what this feels like or what is happening then.

with what you´re telling about your relationship, i am sorry. you seem to be a good woman, but you´re excusing your husbands behaviour with his childhood experiences.

i don´t want to be harsh or prejudicative as i don´t know anything about you both, but i go with "once you´re over 30, you should have overcome you´re childhood experiences and deal with it like a grown up".

so.. you take his childhood as an excuse, but does he use it in this way as well?
it is easier to use this as reason for all instead of saying/realizing/thinking, that this should not be the reason any more, but something else is the reason.

all relationships have to be maintained, there is always work to do, improvement to make. but according to your dream, if you want to rely it on your relationship, essential things are broken down (even the water!) and you´re not improving it, you´re just digging.
maybe you should just take what you´re already have, move with that to an easier level (rent within your price range) and get things working there, as live itself would be easier once you don´t spend money you don´t have on this. there will be space to improve other, essential things.
these are not out of your reach. it is only one stairway away. you just have to move.

sorry for my english, it´s not my mother tongue, so what i am writing may sound a bit complicated. i whish i had more vocabulary to get down to the point better!
and once again, just my interpretation. it could be just a dream.

Another POV for your consideration, skyblau--

This dream was similar to one I have had before a long time ago. The dream was that I was living in a house that had two levels. One was basement level, and another level that was ground level.
 Quoting: skyblau

The house represents you--

Basement level of the house, your subconscious.

Ground level of the house, your conscious.

The basement level had everything that the ground floor level had: kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms etc.
 Quoting: skyblau

And this is a contributing factor to why I looked at it like I did above.

The basement level wasn't as nice,
 Quoting: skyblau

In these types of dreams, like I'm noting - house representing the individual - the basements are rarely as nice because the subconscious is...well, a mess...or as you said, "unfinished."

the kitchen sink was taken out and just the pipe was there that could be turned on and off for water.
 Quoting: skyblau

Think about the function of a kitchen sink--

They are a vessel that holds water. They're used to clean and to drink from. Water is a life sustaining substance.

To take it a bit further--

A kitchen without a sink is a kitchen that will be harder to complete a nourishing meal in, and to clean up afterwards.

I think you're wise enough, experienced enough, to understand the meaning of the lack of access to "water."

Apparently in the dream,we chose to live in the basement level. Wood floorboards were placed down over dirt for the floor, and in many areas were were taking off the floor boards and digging underneath, looking for something, but I don't know what. Something hidden I guess.
 Quoting: skyblau

Awesome...beautiful, I wanted to clap when I read this.

You're mining for something buried deeply in your subconscious, and there's no better time in our interpersonal histories to have subconsciousnesses that are fully discovered...illumined, if you will, not in the dark.

Good thing it's just wooden floorboards, wink and not concrete...hf good for you!

I don't really know what this means, but it would be nice to have a house like that, even though the basement was unfinished mostly. I just wonder if the dream could be symbolic in some way.
 Quoting: skyblau

As you can see, I think it's very symbolic.

I'm really quite excited for you. You have an opportunity to not only be aware that your psyche/spirit is attempting to move something of yourself that is buried into full knowing, but you can also, at the "ground level," participate in the healing proceess.

Re: Weird dreams lately...
Thank you for all who are helping me with this interpretation. I think you guys are right, it does seem very deeper than just a house dream.

I have had a three dreams in all with the theme of a house over the other one. I will give you the other two dreams. They are actually quite different.

Ok here they are:

I was living in a house in the dream, a real nice house. It had two levels, one over the other. This second level the basement level also had every type of room. It had a kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms, etc. The difference between the bottom level and the top was this basement level everything was older. It looked like the decorations from the 1970's like time had stood still in this house. It seemed to be a different time, and space, yet it was connected to the house above it. The opening to the basement level was from the outside, through a doorway that was concealed. When I went into this house, I felt cozy and comfortable. Even though it wasn't modern, and it was rather dusty. I wanted to stay there, but I seen something on a shelf, it was a wooden box. I opened it up, and there was some kind of being that came out of it, and was trying to push me out of the house. Then I woke up.

And another dream similar:
I was in house and found a stairway leading to a hidden door leading downward. I walked down the steep stairs, and I was in a kitchen. I opened up the cabinets and it was filled up with all sorts of food. I was happy, and it made me really satisfied. It had everything like a regular house. I saw bedrooms, and all the rooms you have in a house. And they had closets filled with clothes, books, toys etc. I went into the bathroom, and saw a cabinet filled with body washes, and beauty items, and I liked it. I can't typically afford the extras. I woke up thinking, wow, what a cool dream.

Yes, happier and healtier is always good in day to day life.

I although think the most important thing about this is that it will not be optimal to be dragging unresolved consciousness issues through the shift process. A lot of these subconscious issues are ground in fear, anger, apathy, etc..

I think it's everything about us, the known and unknown parts of self, that will be the creative "blueprint" for what we become after the shift, and we're best served to right here and right now do what I call "cleaning our consciousness clocks."

As a psychoanalyst Freud would agree with you.

The problem with that is that Freud had narrow vision when it came to diagnosing and treating patients. He, like you, had a sexual agenda to push.

Realize, though, that Freud made his mark on the field of psychology in the 19th century, and unlike you, most of the rest of us that are in the here and now realize that not everything is based on a secret desire to fuck your mother or father...

I actually read Freud. And other stuff. Was a hobby of mine once.

Anyway, the women figured out their dreams are about that one womans relationship, which does not work out so well. This also includes the sexual part of the relationship, which cannot be as fulfilling when the emotional binding is not as strong as it used to be. Also all relationships account to the sexual part of them. Need I say more?

I just got to the core of the problem, being the man I am, while the women stirred around in emotional stuff, being the women they are.

No, Face Palmer, there's no need for you to say anything more.

That was my point.

Sorry, skyblau, I don't mean to derail your thread with Freudian bullshit. I'll just leave it at this, and be on my way.

Re: Weird dreams lately...
Interestingly, I had an oracle reading done for me last night (which I won on listia Yay! anyway...) It said that two of my spirit guides, "a guardian" and "the grandmother" were very connected to me. That the veil of the spirit world would become much much thinner and there would not be much separation between the spirit world, and my physical world in the days and months to follow. That the spirit world would give me strength, and insight.

I thought that was pretty cool. And I have noticed in the last few weeks, my intuition has increased, and so have the vivid dreams.

Re: Weird dreams lately...
