Boy and a girl have had several fingers torn off during a game of tug-of-war at their high school in Southern California

As a kid, I always had that fear during games. In middle school once a month some of the P.E. classes would gather, make two huge teams, and we would tug. About 40 students on each side. In the middle was a 3 foot deep and about 10 feet wide ditch, mucky wet sandy mess. It was always cold as hell too. It was like a huge free hour in P.E afterwords. It was nice, we'd get to hang out with a lot of people we wouldn't really see much otherwise.
