They should ONLY get food staples like way back. Bread,cheese,butter,milk. No way should they get a damn ATM card or even stamps which always had rampant fraud. They don't need a chip. Mandatory birth control shot for both males and females of reproductive age within families applying for assistance. You have a choice. Get help, get the shot. Don't want the shot? Get off your ass and support your own damn family. Problem solved. Welfare/foodstamps = same conditions. Plus you should have a max number of years of benefits. Motivation to make better decisions in life...

I have often wondered why the food stamp program is not more like the wic voucher program. Only There are different types of people on food stamps. You have the people who are disabled, can't take care of themselves, maybe not even cook for themselves. You have the people who work but still don't make enough to buy food after they pay for shelter, clothing and transportation. These are true needs along with food. Then there are the complete freeloaders. You can tell who is what type at the grocery sometimes. The working families who still need help tend to buy more whole foods that would have to be prepared from scratch. Generally healthier foods that will give them what they need to keep working. The disabled I notice buy a lot of packaged freezer meals. The freeloader lifestylers buy carts of pure crap. Processed poisons. I am a people watcher. I have learned a lot about people just by watching them over the years. It's not judgment. Just observations.
