" Pastor let it go the whole Church went up front 2 hours of Praise, Pastor did not even give a message"

Op, can you please elaborate on this?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21978477

We started to sing and The Holy Spirit filled the music, I got goose bumps and started crying, not just me but many, then people got on their knees and started praying, then Worship team kept playing, then a lady gave a beautiful prolific word, this went on for over an hour and Pastor came up and said Holy Spirit moving lets just keep going . So we sang for long time and the Pastor ask if anyone needed prayer or healing , everyone got up in the end went to front and prayedsmile_hear Just Wow is all I can say

To be part of that I felt very Blessed so tired of Churches having planned programs and not allowing this

I was raised in a pentecostal church. It was at it's biggest about 50 people, so not that large. I remember people dancing, laughing, and falling over with "the spirit". In my adult life, I've never felt anything similar except once when I was praying and was overcome with the giggles, I was by myself when it happened. It was quite a joy though.
 Quoting: Holldoll

This is a general question not directed toward you, but where did we as a people get this "slain in the spirit" falling down and acting like a fool?

There isn't a record that I know of in the Bible about that other than having an unclean spirit manifesting.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5786799

That's exactly what I was thinking. Laughing and being "overcome with the giggles" doesn't sound like the Holy Spirit to me. I think it's more like crying and falling on your knees in repentance, like the original thread post said.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2297605

You my friend have hit the nail on the head. The whole Bible is about repentance and doing God's will, no one can show me in the Bible where people fell backwards, if you will read the Bible all the Holy men of Old fell on their faces when they spoke with God or even when an angel approached them. If anyone needs scripture, I will take the time to look it up.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33285090

I think people often mistake an ecstatic thrill for spirituality. This is a relationship, and like any other relationship, it can't be all thrills and parties. Most of the time it's routine. But that's only dry and cold if people want it that way. Most of us know that a healthy relationship is when you are comfortable with someone, you talk to them naturally, and you don't dump them if they're not exciting all the time. There are ups and down, moments of joy and moments of anguish.

Personally, if someone wouldn't be my friend unless I gave them a thrill a minute, I'd run as far away as I could. How does God feel about people who think He's not even there unless he's making them feel tingly and thrilled?

And where is discernment? Any "spirit" can produce ecstatic feelings. People have already given video links to how extreme the error can get if it isn't anchored in the Bible.
Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? (Gal. 4:16)

Unless you have been there, done that, careful of what you mock.

Yes, satan gets in the middle of everything and yes you HAVE to test the spirits to know where they come from. I have seen a church totally in the Spirit targeted by evil and it crashed and burned. Sometimes this happens because there isn't enough learning in the Bible and knowing what it says. You have to be more than a babe in Christ. You have to read and study the Bible. You can't go by what some human says.

There were miracles in ancient days. There are still miracles today. To be told different, is also falling for a lie.

Being slain in the spirit and being overcome with the giggles is not Biblical....these pentecostal "phenomena" are definitely not from the living Creator God and Holy Spirit....it is satanic.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33743845

So much judgment. Every person will receive the energy differently. If they have been disconnected from the Holy Ghost for some long amount of time...I bet the sudden feeling of bliss and joy would drop most people to their knees. To be overcome with giggles is to recognizance the joy of life and to step out of the shadows of darkness and ignorance into the light of our GOD. To let go of all worry and fear and just allow Gods love to flow results in out bursts of giggles and or crying in many situations. People hold on to so many emotions, they stuff them down and in these fleeting moments of God we are able to release what we hold onto that no longer serves us. Stop calling what you don't understand satanic. You people are just making a mess of all of this. You are confusing people and creating a negative paradigm around everything sacred.

Any mass gathering will stir emotions. Rulers know and use this to their advantage.
So do film stars, rock/pop stars, politicians...and preachers.
You want to get people moving? Put them together en masse, play some music and tell them everything is allright even if it's not.
My advice to anyone who wants to have their own identity?
Stay the hell away from any and all mass gatherings!

Matthew 7:6 (KJV)

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

This is a topic not understood, please, please be careful.

Matthew 12:31-32(KJV)

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Re: Holy Spirit really moved Sunday in Church any other reports
I once went to a prayer service where people spoke in tongues. I had no idea what to expect, but it was NOT a "language" that I'd ever heard before. We were all standing in a circle, singing, then several people began to speak in tongues. I heard a voice say "just enjoy this, it is the Holy Spirit, don't be afraid", because frankly, I was a little freaked out by it. After things calmed down a bit, I turned around because I thought it was the pastor that spoke to me, but when I turned I realized that not only was he not standing there, he was still seated about 20 feet away. To this day I have no clue who it was that spoke to me.

Oh, I agree. You KNOW. Blessings to you hon and may you find that "joy unspeakable" inside. Nope, you don't have to do all the "crazy Pentecostal" things to feel that joy, or to have that still small voice (yes that is the Holy Spirit) speak to you. You don't have to be perfect, nor even a Biblical scholar. You don't have to have any of that, just a repentant heart and a love of your Heavenly Father. Daniel wasn't perfect (the dude committed murder for crying out loud) and he danced in joy before the Lord!!

By the way, Sun-day is not Yah's appointed sabbath.

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5786799

AMEN you are EXACTLY right!! People worshipping on Sunday are bowing to a command of the catholic church and NOT following scripture!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1580547

Now, now, please don't be anti-Catholic.

Protestant communion = grape juice and a cracker
Catholic communion = Jesus Christ Himself, His risen body, blood, soul and divinity

Scripture was compiled by the Catholic Church, the Bible didn't drop from Heaven complete. Please, say thank you holy mother Church. Every knee shall bend...

Jesus is coming soon to hopefully bring you home to the faith, remember, say "yes" when He shows you. Amen.

I am a fundamental, born again, authentic Bible believing Christian.
I want to caution you not to lose the truth of the gospel with pentecostal "signs and wonders"
God has promised us eternal life and The Cross.
The supernatural, the miraculous does not necessarily mean that the work is of the Holy Spirit. Buddhists and other ungodly people perform miracles. Test the Sprits to see whether they are from God.

The Holy Spirit works in our hearts and lives to give us love, joy, kindness, goodness, patience, peace, self-control. The Holy Spirit is the practical power that God wants us to use in our life to glorify Him and live a righteous, successful life. The Holy Spirit indwells us, seals us, helps us to live the Christian life, helps us to pray, helps us to understand Scripture and helps us to witness to others. Don't get caught up in confusion, signs and wonders.

Be very careful and do not let high emotions get you confused with the true works of God.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33743845

Yes, someone replied saying it is like going to a concert! No, no, God does not want to worshiped in this way.

Doesn't a well known group called the "Toronto" church endorse these kind of antics?

It is good though OP hf that you assembled, went to Church to worship God on Sunday. So many non-Catholics and Catholics too do not go to Church these days. How it offends God, it is a sin against His Commandment, remember, keep holy the Sabbath. Now in the New Covenant, it is Sunday, the Lord's Day, honoring our Savior, He arose on
Sunday.

See the Scripture verse that states Jesus, as His habit, went to worship God at the Temple.

Luke 4:16

Sorry, I disagree, it is both, so reading Scripture at home doesn't fulfill the Commandment, remember, keep holy the Sabbath.

Church means "assembly." All the churches and cathedrals worldwide, do you wonder why? Christianity gathers together to worship God on Sunday. It is a mortal sin for Catholics not to go to holy Mass on Sunday.

There aren't two sets of Commandments for Christians. Remember, what does Ephesians 4:5 say, there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. How long is God going to put up
with the division in Christianity, not much longer.

Would you make yourself known in the midst of a people that would attribute any manifestation of your very presence to not just another.. but your arch enemy?

You can not possibly know or understand what it is like for the Holy Spirit to fall in your presence when you deny He manifests in that way. He will not force Himself on you.. your church or anyone else who does not invite Him.

You wouldn't recognize Him because you have a pre-conceived notion of what He should or shouldn't do.

It is near impossible to literally feel His Presence and not shake, weep, fall down, groan or any other number of things. This is the Almightly Creator we are talking about here. His Mere Presence demands a reaction. People and angels fall prostrate in His Presence all the time.

He Thrives on the Praises of His People.

How normal would it be for you to have children and then never interact with them. He's our Heavenly Father. He longs to visit with us in such ways.

God is far from boring. He may be Righteous, Holy, Truth, Life, Alpha, Omega, I Am that I Am and everything else He represents but that doesn't necessarily equate with boring.

Look at His Majestry throughout the Earth. Not the Works of a dull uninspired Artist

He loves His people who hunger for His Presence to revel rest and be refreshed in the midst of His Presence.

Please understand I am not in any way shape or form saying you or any other believers are not good God fearing people.

I simply get very frustrated with people accusing things God does of being the devil or satanic. In my opinion this is very near if not complete outright blasphemy.

Don't exalt your denomination, regardless of what it is above the Works of God.

That's great bro. Let's pray for revival. But here is what we need to do. The church needs to provide free christian K-12 education like the Madrases do for muslim youth. Stop the building programs and concentrate on saving the lost generation of youth. That's how the devils took over America. America can be taken back for the Lord.

Yes, the Holy Spirit is alive. Yes, you may have been baptized in the Holy Spirit. But, unless you were speaking in a human language unknown to you but is known by other people, it is gibberish and not of God.

I am a seminary student. There is nothing scriptural about this hysteria. But, there are lots of scriptures about this behavior being NOT of God.

be careful.

Hysteria has nothing to do with praise, worship, or anything else from God.

To be part of that I felt very Blessed so tired of Churches having planned programs and not allowing this

This is just your opinion. I respect it, but it is only an opinion. However, you may just be wrong. If so, the liberal use of the term "gibberish" may be found offensive.

Again, I quote 1 Cor 14:2:

"For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit."

I am a seasoned and educated Christian. I am devoted to studying God's Word. I will gladly take you to it line by line, verse by verse, chapter by chapter.

Shall we start with 1 Corinthians 14? These are not my words/opionions, but they are Gods.
