She said she was told that in America, the streets were paved with gold and people were given all sorts of money and luxury items. That it was paradise. I think the reason we are oversaturated with immigrants is because they think it is freebie paradise over here and there are some, like your relatives, OP, that are living in the manner that they expected to live when they chose to come here. People coming from poor areas think they have reached their nirvana when they get here and are handed money and credit cards. They don't know have to handle money responsibly because they never had it before. I remember a woman I knew from Mexico who had won over a hundred thousand in a medical lawsuit for a botched surgery. She bought the house accross the street from my parents and pretty much spent everything she had within a year. Then when she was destitute again, she had to go move back to the ghetto with her sister. Some people have never learned how to handle money. It's a huge problem. They said it is not going to the parents -- but to the children. They do not report information to the Federal government so the feds would not go after the mother/grandmother for not suporting. She would not discuss their particlar application for support -- she only talked in general. The lady seemed to agree with me that the system is screwed-up. She said they see a lot of fraud and usually catch it after a few months -- but she did not think that what I described was fraud, that they were entitled to the money under the Texas/Federal regulation. My husband and I brought his niece, her husband and their 3 kids to Texas from California where they were unemployed and completely on government aid. The husband got a full time job right away, our niece got a full time job offer right away (In spite of the fact that she speaks no English.), but she wouldn't go to work till their food stamps got cut! We threw them out after they turned on me. I'm the only white person in the house. In spite of the fact that I was paying ALL of the household bills and was really nice to them and their kids, they wanted to "keep" my house and kick me out. I never felt more empowered than when my husband and I booted them out. They are still here in town, both working full tine and off the government teat. |

Ugh! I am okay with American Citizens using the safety net. I will use it if I ever need it. Assuming it is still there should I need it. I just have a problem with people who are not Americans and never paid into the system -- getting benefits. Especially when they use that to make a car payment on a new car. Kia... to respond to a previous post. Some sort of SUV. Too small to do much, they can't even safely get their family of 5 in it... They bought a new car when they got here... on his credit. They did not make payments and it was repo'd a couple of weeks ago. Partly because the asshole had run up 15K on his credit cards and could not make all the payments. So they go out, using the wife's credit (she had one credit card with a $500 limit) lie about their actual income, and get another loan on another new car... $480 a month payments for 6 years on a 20K car. High interest... paid more than sticker price due to a bunch of shit the dealer added on. They are so upside down on this it is pathetic. I work... I pay my own healthcare (just the premiums are 13K for family of four)... drive a 1993 jeep and a 2006 Altima... and paid a shit load of money in taxes ($2,500 per month are taken out of paychecks). These fuckers are not even Americans, they get money from the government, free healthcare.. And what really pissed me off this morning... they are getting $3K back in taxes because of a child tax credit. They can't wait to file their taxes so they can get that money. AND... SPEND IT BEFORE HE FILES FOR BANKRUPTCY. This country is fucked... Totally fucked. This government is fucked... We were unsure about the new year tax situation, so we cut back just like everyone else did and drove this economy into the negative... The American people need to cut back even more. Choke this government out and end this bull-shit now. just call the DHS hotline and report that you seen them carrying in guns and cans of black powder and fertilizer in the house..They will raid the house quickly |
