Re: CBO: Seven Million Workers Will Lose Insurance Under Obamacare
Yrs, they knew this would happen and wanted it to happen. The people who get dropped will be forced to seek their own insurance in the private market. Since many will find this unaffordable due to sky-rocketing premiums, they will be forced to purchase from the Obamacare exchanges being set up in all states. This is gov't subsidized, so the gov't gets to set all the rules. Eventually we will all be forced to purchase our insurance from the exchanges due to the private market being too costly. Except for the elite, of course. It is too late to turn back the clock. Welcome to the loss of your healthcare freedom and say hello to death panels. One example is that reimbursement for surgeries will be "outcome based". Do you know what that means? Suppose you are in very poor health and find yourself needing life-saving surgery. Good luck finding a surgeon and hospital to treat you because Obamacare states they will not be reimbursed if the outcome is poor. The law also states that not all medications or procedures will be available to every individual. Think about that.

Sarah Palin was absolutely correct in her acessment of the "Death Panels" and look what they did to her.

We really are at war here.

Here's how it goes down....

1. Companies don't insure individuals because it's too costly

2. Companies take the government fines, it's the cheaper way to go

3. Employees try to insure through private companies and find they can't afford it

4. Employees try to insure through government, $20,000 a family for the useless plan, more $ if you expect to get some coverage and even more money if you expect to be "insured"

5. Employees decline to get insured and pays the fines to the government

So what have we learned? The government has figured out a unique and fun way to get the poor and middle class to pay down the deficit! Only in America!

What do you do in a country where the people can't afford insurance? Do you penalize the insurance companies for charging too much - do you make insurance affordable for everyone? Nope - you fine the people who couldn't afford the overpriced, quasi-coverage insurance.

Makes sense to me. Don't punish the big insurance corporations for this mess, it is obviously the people that get sick. Why should insurance companies pay for sick people - the people weren't sick when they got the coverage - Everyone knows you can't get insurance with a per-existing condition.

Obama never did care about the working person.
He has been all about taking from the working and giving to those not working.

So, with 47% getting handouts from the Government - he doesnt care.

Background of my avatar: [link to en.wikipedia.org]

The religion of submission cannot survive an open and honest discussion of its convoluted and foolish scriptures, its sexually perverted terrorist prophet, or its deceitful and demented god. When Western leaders become unified and resolute in their hostility to Islam's violent and ungodly beginnings, Muslims will flee the religion because they will be horrified by its endorsement of terrorism, mass murder, slave trading, plunder, kidnapping, and rape.

If Muslims & their apologists really want to cure "Islamophobia," here is an easy way. Focus their indignation on Muslims committing violent acts in the name of Islam, not on non-Muslims reporting on those acts.

Ecclesiastes 10:2 “The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.”

We are all born ignorant, but it takes a lot of work to keep looking the other way to remain stupid.

Islam is not a race - the racism rant is lame, used by the intellectually lazy to derail the debate.

He doesn't care about people losing jobs or being unemployed. He will take care of them via entitlement programs. His ultimate goal on health insurance is a one-payer service...the US Gov't being that payer. And yes, that gives them control over our lives, our bodies. They will decide who gets to live or die. All of these things are about gaining control over all aspects of people's lives and bodies. And none of these things will be available unless you are CHIPPED.

So the net result of Obamacare:

- Less people with insurance
- Insurance is more expensive
- You pay a tax to the IRS if you don't have insurance

What an utter disaster

The question is does he care ?. I do not think he does, my reason for that is he/they whatever put the bill together and got it passed. Thus they know what effects it will have.

Obama cares about the same amount as Mao cared when his first five year plan failed. His answer? Do another five years.

Meanwhile somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 to 70 million either were murdered or starved to death.

President Obama's health care law will push 7 million people out of their job-based insurance coverage — nearly twice the previous estimate, according to the latest estimates from the Congressional Budget Office released Tuesday.

CBO said that this year's tax cuts have changed the incentives for businesses and made it less attractive to pay for insurance, meaning fewer will decide to do so. Instead, they'll choose to pay a penalty to the government, totaling $13 billion in higher fees over the next decade.

Loosing mine this month. I am an independent contractor and the cost of my premiums have doubled. This will be the first time in my adult life that I am uninsured.

Let me just say I have no insurance claims other then routine visits for eighteen years. Thanks for making insurance more affordable.

Healthcare isn't a god given right.

People are born with a mouth, mind, body, soul, etc. Free speech, freedom of thought expression, but healthcare isn't a right given to man at birth.

I think people forget that getting healthcare is a right given to you by your physician.

Hippocratic oath makes a physician need to treat you in most situations emergent especially. Any decent physician will give you care in the emergent basis alone without asking for money up front.

So, when you loose physicians and access because people decide to pay them less or fuck them up with lawsuits, expect less healthcare.

There is little to no healthcare delivery with a lack of physicians. Sure, you can go to a NP or a PA, but they are directed by physicians.

Your body is like a car. Insure it. The government shouldn't have to be responsible for you and sure the hell shouldn't have to pay for you for being irresponsible.

Re: CBO: Seven Million Workers Will Lose Insurance Under Obamacare
Insurance shouldn't be job based. It isn't like that in any other country. A person is covered if they have a job, are self-employed or out of work everywhere except the US. Enough pressure is put on businesses these days. They don't need the added pressure to provide insurance as well. That is out dated.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1550123

You don't read much do you? I mean, it doesn't look like you understand that the European model of socialism has failed.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33731339

This one is failing as well. Insurance is very expensive for the self-employed if they can afford it and some people just can't qualify for health insurance at all. And even when people have insurance many still go bankrupt for all the tests etc that insurance doesn't cover. There are better ways than the one we have but none are perfect. At least in other countries people don't go bankrupt because they had a baby or needed some basic surgery. And even if they have to wait for surgery it is better than not being able to get it at all because you can't afford it so they won't see you.
