Lasagna, Sack Cloth, and Christianity.
One of my most favorite meals to prepare for my family is lasagna. A dish that requires not many ingredients, yet is very fulfilling and easy to pass down. I love how each ingredient blends within this layered dish. Often, better as a left over as times allows all the flavors to effortlessly blend together.

Now for all those whom like to quote scripture without ever providing a real meaning. As lasagna is layered, so to is Sack cloth.

What is the significance of Sack cloth in the scriptures?
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith Yahweh, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.

As many on this forum that like to throw doctrine out, I come not to chastise but to lay down the stones. No response is stupid, but this simple lesson requires much thought.
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith Yahweh, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.

Repentance
"Then He began to upbraid the cities where most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. "Woe to you, Chorazin! woe to you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes."
1 But these took this counsel among themselves, that they would leave the multitude of the heathen, and go forth into a further country, where never mankind dwelt,
42 That they might there keep their statutes, which they never kept in their own land.
43 And they entered into Euphrates by the narrow places of the river.
44 For the most High then shewed signs for them, and held still the flood, till they were passed over.
45 For through that country there was a great way to go, namely, of a year and a half: and the same region is called Arsareth.
46 Then dwelt they there until the latter time; and now when they shall begin to come,

I thirst not for doctrine but meaning. Doctrine is idle without thought. Think of when Christ delivers his blessed be....in the Gospels.

Stone #2 meek

Often we get lost in the Words, bring forth not scriptures but meaning. Real wisdom is found in the portrait that is painted. As lasagna this is layered.

His disciples were representations of Him. Why was it he asked them to clothe themselves in this manner? He fulfilled everything that came before, and he knew everything that would come after. Antiquity vs Modernity.

Try not to over think. A sack holds things it is a container. Sack cloth as were potato bags were common, but it takes someone crafty to fashion it into a garment, nowadays.

Their clothing was a container of knowledge, because they were the chosen representatives of the Kingdom of Heaven. Sack and cloth. There is much more to this lesson.

So we have

1. Humility
2. Meek
3. Knowledge

Any one of this world is not of Him. Did not the Pharisees show us that with the show they put forth before the people? You have to loose the world to find Him, because his ways far greater then this world. It isn't until we sacrifice everything that we have gained. Jesus tells us that about our own lives.

And by the way it is not a lowly state it is the only state, for it encompasses everything he has taught us. The blessed b's. the cloth representation of the blessed b's.

Put forth your back unto God that he might rest his foot upon it, and when he does might that impression be one of Wisdom. Wisdom only comes from submission, and love only from the Father. As any Father he is the ultimate teacher.

Re: Lasagna, Sack Cloth, and Christianity.
The overall message that the Kingdom provides in the teaching of the sackcloth is that we are all called to be disciples of God, and not students of man. This is why the path is wide because Jesus knew men are LAZY. The Gospels gave us the Image of the Kingdom now all you have to do is come before God, in that image, and as I said let yourself be the footstool and he will fashion your garment for you. It doesn't matter your color, income, your marital status, etc those are labels not from Heaven.

The image is all in the clothes that his disciples wore. Your his footstool because whether you like it are not your life is of his Dominion, as with all things in His universe.
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith Yahweh, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.
