Re: Women in the infantry, Opinions?
I'm just curious, have any of you ever served in any branch of the military, or deployed as 11-series Infantry?

As for me, I was not a leg. I was on a TPT (Tactical PSYOP Team) as a 37F. I loved having women around! The Army is enough of a sausage-fest as it is, and well, women just pretty much rock...

There were some women who I would more readily choose to watch my ass (if I had a choice...I didn't) than some men. It all depends on the person, I guess, but my observation is that some women have a cold, calculating detachment that men lack. Men are like "let's kick the door down and wax everyone," where women tend to analyze it on a deeper level and think of the overall objective.

Just look throughout history, or specifically, at the Eastern Front during WWII. Women were fighter pilots and snipers. And they did a damned good job of wasting the enemy.

In sum, yeah, I'm for it.

Yes they are in combat jobs but not Infantry. Sorry ladies most of the rucks and gear weigh more then most woman.

Infantry is still one of those MOS's that are still all men.

They lift the gay ban and most of the woman in combat realated mos's, why?

My guess is its getting harder to find cannon fodder so we need to let everyone in. Next will be the wheel chair brigade and walker rangers.

One word "Draft"...you see when they instate it again... and CNN shows women getting drafted in enthusiastically (not knowing wtf fubar situation they are getting into) it will force A LOT more men NOT to dodge the draft because they will all be like "bro, did you hear Mike's sister went into the draft, c'mon bro we can't dodge this , we have to go in"....and thats what this is all about.

NO NO NO and more NO! Do you want to be the one dragging half a gal off the battlefield? What about the things they'll have to endure at the hands of the enemy if captured? It's bad enough for men and boys that are barely men to do, but to sent women and teenage girls onto the battlefield to get blown up, captured, raped and everything else is more insane than war itself. War is to protect the women and children and freedom, not for sending them to the slaughter. Just my opinion.

Soldiers are soldiers. Women wanted equality, now they got it. They too now have the right to die from enemy bullets for their bankster masters.

Enjoy your equal rights!

Oh wait, they only wanted the best parts of equal rights and none of the shit ones? Too bad, so sad.

Re: Women in the infantry, Opinions?
It is a horrible idea. The monthly cycle alone is a big reason to NEVER put women on the front lines.

I don't care how beautiful a woman is , when she is in the field with no bath, grimy and dirty AND having her menstrual period and bleeding all over herself, nobody will want to be near her.

They won't have her back because they will be so disgusted with her stinky and the mess all over herself that her life will be hers and hers alone to save.

I assure you, men have been trained for a melenia to find total disgust and feel extreme shame for being near a woman in that predicament.

Then there's the rape aspect, the strength aspect, the stamina aspect.. PMS aspect.

Please don't put our women in that predicament

Not so much women being in 11b 11c etc.
But women have been attached to combat
11b 11c 11whatever since the 1st gulf war.
The change acknowledges this and allows this
to be in the record for when they were in a
firefight it is recored and they get credit.
When they flew a helicopter into combat, they
now will get credit and danger pay and purple
hearts and points towards rank.
They got none of this before.

Interpreters are often women attached to
combat units who get into real combat.
The interpreters didn't get any credit
or acknowledgement for their part in the
firefight.
Now they will.

I'm a female and I had a combat MOS when I was in the Army. I was an MP but being an MP and being in the infantry are two totally different things. I don't particularly like the idea of females in the infantry. I have a friend who is stationed in Afghanistan now who says the rate of rape of female soldiers is unbelievable and they want to stick women in the infantry? Bad idea!

34 years, 9 months, and 8 days; Army/Marine Corps, enlisted and Officer, active duty and reserve, 11 real world operations - I say this from experience.

Women can provide much needed support to combat units but not actually be in the infantry. Infantry is hard even for a man.

It would change a lot of things. Just think of your own relatives, wives or girlfriends - there are days when things just do not go well for women or men at the receiving end. Culture shock would ensue. Military need to be well disciplined and orderly.

Am I willing to see my daughters go to war??? Hell no.

Women have different abilities than men do. If they are to live a military life, they can do so with honor and distinction as many have done in many MOS's.

As far as the rapes go (male on female or female on female), whenever the guilty one is caught and convicted - should be shot on the spot because they are probably into other criminal activity as well. A dishonorable person is a dishonorable person no matter the sex.

Women already served in 93% of combat rolls.

They want bodies for the camera.

The Supreme Court case that stopped ladies from becoming drafted will be over turned. READ IT.

Snip;
In a 6-3 decision, the Court ruled that it was constitutional to register only men for the draft. Justice William Rehnquist wrote the majority opinion. He noted that “the question of registering women for the draft not only received considerable national attention and was the subject of wide-ranging public debate, but also was extensively considered by Congress in hearings, floor debate, and in committee. Hearings held by both Houses of Congress in response to the President's request for authorization to register women adduced extensive testimony and evidence concerning the issue.”

Congress specifically determined that in wartime, the primary purpose of a draft would be to provide combat troops. “Since women are excluded from combat, Congress concluded that they would not be needed in the event of a draft, and therefore decided not to register them.” He went on to say: “Men and women, because of the combat restrictions on women, are simply not similarly situated for purposes of a draft or registration for a draft.”
Rostker v. Goldberg (1981) [link to www.infoplease.com]

Now all your daughters will be on the draft list, matter of time.

Good point, INTJ women.
Women are better at military tactics than the blow the bloody doors off men

Plus the enemy would underestimate women more so than men, which can be used to an advantage

In a rape situation you are probably woken up in the middle of the night if you work and live in the same place.

well the ones i have encountered are mostly rude and self centred. and when these men legislate to give women less pay for the same job but women have to pay the same percentage of tax i wouldn't say they are protecting females, so if a women can out skill a man in combat then why not?
