the Japan earthquake and tsunami in the 1890's produced almost 40 metre high waves from a 7.6 earthquake.. With this earthquake everybody is lucky

A 5 is not a big earthquake for earthquake resistant buildings in Hokkaido, but there were 10 injuries from it. That particular earthquakes' range was very wide, felt 1 shake from it in Tokyo.

An 8.0 is a very big earthquake. But where it happens, and how deep it is, is just as important when determining if there will be a tsunami.

We already know that the world techtonic plates are on the move. We know it because of the volcanoes in Russia, the volcanoes in New Zealand, and the booming sounds and little earthquakes on the New Madrid U.S. fault.

Please report anything over a 6.5. It is significant.

i've been watching this webcam since the link was first posted and it updated every 2 mins. now it's now its not reloading and it stopped about the exact time the tsunami was going to hit fiji. maybe its been destroyed? any word on fiji?

an 8mag EQ is not that huge? I think you need to go study on earthquakes and on magnitudes are measured..a 7mag to a 8mag is a HUGE difference, go do your research before spouting out gibberish
