I just saw on tv an unconfirmed video of the shaking in a bar on some island close to the epicentre and the people were hanging on to the bar top and flopping about quite intensely for about 30 seconds. Would have scared the shit out of me.

Aftershocks arent a quake swarm, 20 5.0 earthquakes in a row is a quake swarm. a high magnitude earthquake will have lots of aftershocks immediately after. Anyway now I'm wondering if we're gonna get hit up here in Japan soon. We have been seeing an upswing in activity.
