FHP announces daytime driver license, vehicle inspection checkpoints

AMPA BAY - The Florida Highway Patrol Troop C (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Pasco, Hernando, Sumter and Citrus counties) has announced the roads it plans to target with driver license and/or vehicle inspection checkpoints in February. FHP says the checkpoints will be conducted during daytime hours, and generally cause delays of five minutes or less. Scroll down for a list of all affected roads.

A: There is a policy established by the Florida Highway Patrol that specifies the legal guidelines that must be undertaken by the agency to conduct driver license and vehicle safety inspection checkpoints. Had a bunch in Ohio today also. I was driving along a main road and had cones and flaggers directing people to a side parking lot and the sign said vehicle inspection ahead. I saw multiple DHS cars and trucks along with state troopers but pulled off before they could pull me in. This has been running once a month now near the beginnings of each month.

Texas requires an annual inspection sticker (Initial inspection lasts 2 years for New vehicles).

Because the inspection is required annually, we don't have to put up with this crap.

Basically this is to make all you folks in Florida say "Oh, thank God!" when they implement the Florida Annual Vehicle Inspection for $24 dollars per year, per vehicle.

Tax you and make you fucking like it.

I hope they catch anyone with no insurance, bald tires or expired licenses, these people are a menace to a safe highway and drive insurance rates higher.
