Was it God or OP who has chosen?

yes.

Jesus has done everything possible to bring us to Him. if we choose hell, we are literally going there over His dead body.

How close are we to being like Jesus?

I believe in him, but I am not anything like him. I want to change. I want to give up smoking, and video games, and the worthless American way of life but I have an addictive personality.

ask Him to start ministering to your heart.

you dont have to give up smoking, video games, or the worthless american life to be saved.

but as you start honoring God for being God and trying to do what He says..you'll start to notice a change in your heart and a change in your behavior.

good luck to you too, Brother.

I wonder how heaven is working out for all the mothers whose children chose not to believe as they do, and are now being burned forever? Do you think they are enjoying their time with Jesus, knowing their child is being eternally tortured?
It amazes me how many people let this heaven or hell garbage control their mind. It shows how easily controllable the human mind is. Scary.

The hell/heaven things are just imaginations of our past 2000 years.

I would rather do what the Native Americans did, because they were wiped out because they didn't believe in OUR god, and now supposedly burn in hell. That's such bullshit.

Even one like Hitler wouldn't burn eternally. You can't punish someone eternally for a limited time. That's not forgiveness and love AT ALL. You guys are lunatics if you believe that. Also if the way is narrow, do you think that a prick with a 2$ pray book will be saved? Or you that judge others and YOU condemn OP and others to Hell? There is a special place for you (if it exists) down there.

Disagree about "ridiculous concepts" of course, but agree about baiting.

It's tempting to jump in on the comments, but experience has taught me that without some semblance of topic, people just wind up throwing words at each other and nothing good comes of it. That's what the OP was after; some people enjoy throwing candy on the floor and watching the Christians scramble for it. I'd rather talk to someone who actually wants to think.

And you feel obligated to tell us this why? If anything, it looks like you want someone to tell you otherwise, to help you, because no atheist just pops up and says "Oh, I want to burn.". Something struck you (God) and your natural action, is to rebel against what was shown. Let Him in OP, let Him IN!
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38 KJV
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 8:6-9 KJV
6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

If God is real, I would rather burn in hell than go to this so called "Heaven".

Why? Because 90% of Christians are narrow minded idiots, Bible thumpers, rednecks, hippies, new-age freaks or some other idiots.

I would rather burn in fire rather than living with a bunch of complete idiots/freaks in "Heaven" (The REAL Hell) for eternity
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33794571

Insulting GOD's children to fill a void in your heart, why must you speak in vain against the LORD? This path will lead to more misery than you are feeling, find GOD and truly you shall be at peace.

But too many presume that "going through a process" means everyone must arrive at the same conclusions. Perhaps I've already been "going through" such things and have arrived at the truth. (I say perhaps just in conversation, not because I have any doubt.)

I consider myself agnostic; I don't do the god thing... I have noticed that most athiests are just whiny little brats who crave attention. They spend most of their time doing things like this; posting on the Internet and trying to spread their message like a cult. They are all full of so much hate and anger. If you don't believe, that's fine! Just STFU and stop crying all the time. Most of these bratty athiests are the same type of people who would go occupy something because they want free shit. Same snotty attitude.

We could go on and on for several pages, as I believe we both know - truth is a very subjective term...

Truth to you and I, is based on experiential data, both through experiences and contemplation...The experiences and contemplation are vastly different, and would not arrive at the same conclusions...

Unless, of course we are reading the same book!!!

First you have to be alive on the day of return to get there in the 1st place. The next best thing is you can avoid being alive for PhaseI (the 1,000 year reign) by dieing before that specific day.

Say you manage to make it into hell (dead and aware) this is what you will go through compared to the ones alive for the 1,000 years. I'll let you figure out if you get away from the 'Christians' you describe.

Isa:65:12:
Therefore will I number you to the sword,
and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter:
because when I called,
ye did not answer;
when I spake,
ye did not hear;
but did evil before mine eyes,

and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
Isa:65:13:
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD,
Behold,
my servants shall eat,
but ye shall be hungry:
behold,
my servants shall drink,
but ye shall be thirsty:
behold,
my servants shall rejoice,
but ye shall be ashamed:
Isa:65:14:
Behold,
my servants shall sing for joy of heart,
but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart,
and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
Isa:65:15:
And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen:
for the Lord GOD shall slay thee,
and call his servants by another name:

Look on the bright-side, you will be in the majority.

Isa:54:1:
Sing,
O barren,
thou that didst not bear;
break forth into singing,
and cry aloud,
thou that didst not travail with child:
for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife,
saith the LORD.

Don't worry even when you are about to enter the eternal new earth there is still an out for you so you won't even have to officially enter it you can go to the fiery lake right then and there.

Re:21:7:
He that overcometh shall inherit all things;
and I will be his God,
and he shall be my son.
Re:21:8:
But the fearful,
and unbelieving,
and the abominable,
and murderers,
and whoremongers,
and sorcerers,
and idolaters,
and all liars,
shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:
which is the second death.

Now that you know leaves the way open for those that have the same thoughts as you how do you determine that the ones you are trying to get away from are not going to be in hell standing right beside you.

1Pe:4:15:
But let none of you suffer as a murderer,
or as a thief,
or as an evildoer,
or as a busybody in other men's matters.
1Pe:4:16:
Yet if any man suffer as a Christian,
let him not be ashamed;
but let him glorify God on this behalf.
1Pe:4:17:
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:
and if it first begin at us,
what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
1Pe:4:18:
And if the righteous scarcely be saved,
where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Re: I would Rather Burn in Hell than Go To “Heaven”
I consider myself agnostic; I don't do the god thing... I have noticed that most athiests are just whiny little brats who crave attention. They spend most of their time doing things like this; posting on the Internet and trying to spread their message like a cult. They are all full of so much hate and anger. If you don't believe, that's fine! Just STFU and stop crying all the time. Most of these bratty athiests are the same type of people who would go occupy something because they want free shit. Same snotty attitude.
 Quoting: Hitokiri

All too true. I made a YT video where all I try to do is have a hypothetical atheist "sit on the witness stand", and they can't. The comments (and many negative votes) all prove the point: atheism can only defend itself by attacking others, primarily Christianity. An honest, logical, "free thinking" atheist would be an agnostic.

We all, even atheists, eventually come to a point of "givens", of faith, and if honest, we acknowledge that it's inherently subjective. Yet we cannot completely get outside of ourselves; we use the very things we think are subjective in order to decide whether they are. For example, those who assert that the mind is an obstacle to enlightenment use their minds to come to this conclusion, and to tell others about it. They use persuasion with words while saying this activity is the problem. Maddening stuff, philosophy.
Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? (Gal. 4:16)

Not baiting you, but, I stand by my statement of "ridiculous concepts"...
I will not be able to convince you, or anyone else, you have to go through your process, and is why I use the term "experiential"...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17551129

Fair enough.

But too many presume that "going through a process" means everyone must arrive at the same conclusions. Perhaps I've already been "going through" such things and have arrived at the truth. (I say perhaps just in conversation, not because I have any doubt.)

There is 1 Gospel and that means the book has one single meaning, if you haven't verified that your reading time isn't over.

M't:24:14:
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;
and then shall the end come.
