Because I think they were running from something in Europe that they couldn't handle. Going to America has always been an act of desperation for those trying to escape what they are in. That's why they call it the American dream.
They were also the generation that allowed public schooling to get it's roots...which takes away from the family.
They were the generation that allowed the government to choose who had property and who didn't...handing us over to the great slave owners and making us serfs on our own land.
If anything, I would like to go back and bitch slap them. Sure, they could cook with root vegetables, but they gave up the most freedom we ever had, and why? For a promise. They were fucking retarded.
