I went through the same thing for years here in N.C.
It is no fun at all.

I've known men in Cali who were deceived into believing the kid was their and once found out it was too late, they have to pay for 18 years. Not their kid at all.

Proper recourse would be to get a lawyer, press criminal charges for adultery, file for divorce, and then sue for fraud, emotional distress, and breach of contract.

this actually happens in the U.S. as well. Once paternity is acknowledged by a parent, they are legally obligated to pay support no matter what happens thereafter, even if it is shown not to be their child. I have client's (all men) who I file to obtain visitation rights to their children. Initially, you have a right to a DNA test, but one need not be done, and I have had fathers say "i dont need the test, I know they are mine." Under those circumstances, I have to advise them that once they acknowledge paternity, it can never be undone, even if a subsequent test proves otherwise. Fucked up, huh?

Yeah, if you're a dick...any kid I raise would be my kid no matter what...when my kids have friends over I treat them like my own children...it's not the kids fault and you'll destroy their admiration for you and risk no longer being their hero and role-model.

Anymore? Back in "the day" thre was no DNA paternity test. You could never really know in a lot of cases.

Now you can know. In this case the court should have respected the DNA result. No man should be forced to raise another man's child.

The problem is probably getting better. Yes these kids are the next generation, but it's not a guy's concern unless that's his kid. And I agree about being a step-parent: don't. The relationship is never right. From what I've read here and elsewhere, the step-parent is always nearly an outsider in the home. That never changes. If you want a family, make one of your own, and you can't save every other man's (or woman's) children.

I wouldn't go that far as to say they are all parasites - but people should tread lightly when dealing with women with kids. I knew of a woman with kids who was divorced and then married a guy who adopted the kids because he felt it was a good thing to do - especially since their biological dad wasn't a part of their lives and had no objection to the adoption.

Then a short time later, the woman divorces husband number 2 and remarries no. 1 (all in the plan) while she and husband no. 1 live off the child support that husband no. 2 has to pay because he adopted the kids! The courts should have awarded husband no .2 custody but that didn't happen. The deadbeat biological parents have custody and are leeches of husband no. 2.

And women can be just that cold. The bio father is pretty cold too, but he didn't have to fake love enough to marry the other guy, etc.

I know a man who adopted two children when he married their mom. She left him for another man and the kid's went to live with their biological dad and the guy who adopted the still had to pay child support till they weren't eligible anymore, even though they were not supposed to have contact with their biological dad. So he was basically paying child support to the man who gave them up for adoption.

He said it was worth the money to have them out of his life. As they were terrible brats that broke everything he bought them and stole the things he wouldn't buy them.

In my experience, a very large chunk of the "poor" single Moms are in this position because of their own actions. Its all too easy to blame it on the other guy; more often than not you are every bit as much to blame, if not entirely to blame for your own predicament. Women are extremely manipulative and dishonest; so are men. Its the human condition, and it is wrong no matter who is doing it.

This is common place in today's twisted courts. Justice is long been a myth, more especially in family court.

Actually, some women with kids are parasite. Hell, some women are by themselves parasites.

Women used to be allowed only to show their best qualities in public. Now they are encouraged and we collecively celebrate their worst qualtites.

You know I can see the point of wanting to consider the well-being of the children over the parents, but in a case like this where there is blatant dishonesty and manipulation from the woman, she should lose custody of the children and be forced to pay the man child support.
