Because we have a RIGHT to own firearms, a right that is protected by the 2nd amendment, a right the government has no right to take.
Smoking grass is not a right in your constitution.

That doesn't change the fact that one is a right and one is not... sorry, but something isn't a right if someone can take it away. that makes it a privilege. Then there is no such thing as a right then. Anything can be taken away. Including your life. Luckily in this country we have "the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".
