Scientists discover the soul
University of Arizona researchers have provided scientific explanation to near-death experiences.

Understanding where consciousness comes from could solve mysteries such as what happens to the "soul" during near-death experiences, or when a person dies.

In a video that recently aired on "Through the Wormhole" narrated by Morgan Freeman on the TV channel Science, Dr. Stuart Hameroff of the University of Arizona shared hypothetical scenarios derived from the Orch-OR (orchestrated objective reduction) theory of consciousness that he and Roger Penrose, mathematician and physicist, proposed in 1996, according to the Huffington Post.

Utter nonsense.

There is no more a "soul" than there is an "ether".

What you are 'seeing' is merely an inference of the consciousness of the 'thinker'.

The understanding of every aspect of consciousness, which is what these scientists are looking for, is simply beyond the framework or paradigm of the scientific method itself.

In other words, they are not really trying to understand consciousness at all; they are doing nothing more than trying to preserve the scientific paradigm as being sufficient to apprehend reality.

It simply isn't.

"According to the theory, consciousness is derived from"

This is a logical inference of the consciousness of the 'thinker'.

There is no "derived from".

The connection between cause and effect is an intrinsic assumption of the consciousness of the 'thinker'; which is used not only to describe the space-time reality; but, also, to preserve the continuity over time of the consciousness of the "self"; that is, to prevent the consciousness of the "self" from collapsing into psych*sis, as described in the opening passages of the Second Meditation of Descartes.

(Sigh)

You are merely articulating the general assumption of the consciousness of the 'thinker' that it is the consciousness of the 'thinker' itself which is the end all and be all of consciousness itself, the only dimension of consciousness capable of apprehending reality.

There is also the consciousness of the "self", which is expressed in such things as poetry and the lyrics of songs.

And there is also a third dimension of consciousness beyond the "self" and the 'thinker' which cannot be apprehended by the scientific method since it originates in the consciousness of the 'thinker'.

This third dimension of consciousness is, for example, capable of receiving memories of previous lives and such things as telepathy.

Anger is a typical response when a consciousness of the 'thinker' has its 'Revelations' which have come down from 'Mt. Sinai' challenged. Because it considers itself 'God', it considers its thoughts to be 'Revelations' from 'God'; that is, something which should not be challenged.

Anger comes from the consciousness of the "self".

Of course. Of course.

Both the scientists and the theologians operate on the basis of the consciousness of the 'thinker'.

Don't be naive.

Doctors do not want to heal you. They want to 'manage' your disease. Because, if they were to heal you, you would no longer have to pay them.

Theologians don't care about Truth; they care about theology. Because if they ever allowed you to understand the Truth, they would be out of a job.

Similar for the scientists of consciousness, who have their pride, their publishing careers and their jobs to preserve.

All they care about is self-preservation of the scientific paradigm rather than a genuine understanding of consciousness.

They don't want to be unemployed.

Simply because it has no meaning for the consciousness of the 'thinker', does not mean that it has no meaning.

So, tell me, how do you objectively observe the 'thinker'?

How do you objectively observe thought?

There is the bias of the 'thinker'; the function of which is to preserve the "self" from psychosis.

It has a 'dog in the fight'.

If the consciousness of the 'thinker' collapses, psychosis emerges.

That's a fact.

Dig up some ancient Tibetan texts on the nature of consciousness, you'll find that consciousness is also just a side effect, and that there actually are 7 consciousnesses in action in your head (one for each senses, and yes.. 7 not 5. 7 seals.)

We must reserve judgement, blind faith in something that may exist is a stupid as blind faith that something doesnt exist.
