University of Arizona researchers have provided scientific explanation to near-death experiences. Understanding where consciousness comes from could solve mysteries such as what happens to the "soul" during near-death experiences, or when a person dies. In a video that recently aired on "Through the Wormhole" narrated by Morgan Freeman on the TV channel Science, Dr. Stuart Hameroff of the University of Arizona shared hypothetical scenarios derived from the Orch-OR (orchestrated objective reduction) theory of consciousness that he and Roger Penrose, mathematician and physicist, proposed in 1996, according to the Huffington Post. What you are 'seeing' is merely an inference of the consciousness of the 'thinker'. The understanding of every aspect of consciousness, which is what these scientists are looking for, is simply beyond the framework or paradigm of the scientific method itself. In other words, they are not really trying to understand consciousness at all; they are doing nothing more than trying to preserve the scientific paradigm as being sufficient to apprehend reality. It simply isn't. Michael
