The soul scientifically was discovered decades ago.
When a human is dying he exhales his last breath and instantly is 23 grams lighter than he was before.
It always have been 23 grams (instantly after dying).
So... all have somthing in common when all loose exactly 23 grams.
I heard that in the heart there is a little place of pure light and enormous heat.
It's said that that's the place where the souls resides.

But what is being measured is, I would suspect, something referred to as the expiratory reserve volume; which is the amount of air left in the lungs after a complete expiration. Just sayin'. Michael That is a plausable explanation... But, it does not account for why the measurement is always the same... At least, that is what I am assuming, as people are saying it is always 21 grams...
