From the pictures I would say it is "probably" not a meteorite.

However

It can NOT be determined by pictures only.

If I were you I would contact your local University and ask them what you need to do to have it tested.

Do NOT do what some of these people are saying and put a blow torch to it. Nor should you just take our opinions about it as fact.

...

Iron slag would be magnetic correct, this is not. This looks like rock with a burn exterior not metal in any way..

No, not all Iron Slag is magnetic.
 Quoting: Wispa

I image searched Iron Slag and it doesn't look like any of the pictures that came up. They all show small lava rock type holes and most are rust looking. This does not have any of those characteristics..

hey tard. i told you what it is.

IRON SULFIDE. AKA IRON PYRITE..WITH other inclusions.

I would have guessed some kind of volcanic rock, but iron slag makes sense too

I don't know what it is, but...

ohyeah

...I sure do wanna reach out and touch it.

I love rocks, LP. This picture of it makes it look like it's woo-woo exotic.

verysad...oh, but please don't ignore it up there on that shelve just because it's not a fancy schmancy space rock. Give it a 'mornin' rocky' or a 'good night big guy' every once in a while, okay?

In fact, right now, please take it in hand, peer deeply into it, and tell it that cosmicgypsy says, "moar."

Aww thank you for that. I was feeling a bit let down knowing my rock didnt come flying threw space to end up on my table. But you are right it does not matter after all where it came from, its exotic to me. Thanks for reminding me of that and i will give it some extra love and energy for you. muahhh

Thanks, I live close to UCONN and will give the geology department there a call and see if they would look at it for me. Maybe it is something cool after all..
