Try pure clove oil on a cotton swab, crushed garlic and saltwater rinses every few hours for pain and hot/cold sensitivity. If it does not heal and seems to get worse, get it pulled. You might be developing an access under the tooth's nerve which can infect the jaw and even kill you through sepsis (blood infection). I had a very close call once because my dentist kept telling me to come in for more expensive work on a failed canal but didn't check for a deep infection which made me very sick and could have been fatal had I not sought a professional oral surgeon for another opinion. If your face begins to swell on the side of the bad tooth and you experience sudden fever/confusion/nausea/fatigue go to a 24 hour emergency clinic ASAP.
