If you think you can tap into the "fair weather field", good luck to you. But as far as I've seen every last trumpeting of "Free Energy!" has failed to focus on the big, big issue:
It isn't whether or not the energy, or energy field, exists (although that's always what is being lauded as the earth-shaking discovery), but rather "How do you go about creating a potential difference you can then use to create a force which will do work?" or to phrase it differently, "blah-blah-blah Energy, fine! SHOW me the voltage drop!"

Having had conversations with naysayers in the past. I have a strong feeling that you are the type of person that must see and touch the evidence.
My advice to you is this: Make a simple Joule Thief for yourself. At least this will show you how the Battery Companies screw us. There are 100's of videos on YouTube to help you.
Then move on the the Super Joule Thief, which is pretty simple as well.
Ultimately, build your own ABHA coil. the author sells templates to make the coil. Or make your own.
What you will learn, in the end may scare you. Then it will piss you off.
Then you will end up back here telling others.
