Those can't be just ordinary aftershocks. Aftershocks are supposed to be decreasing in strength, and yet we had a 6 pointer in that area after the swarm of 5 pointer(aftershocks?). The area there is a subduction zone, one plate is riding up and over the other. NO breakup will happen. . |
