Ah, they aren't packaged for us.
In the case of fruit, the squishy part is there to feed the seed while rotting on the ground.
In the case of nuts shells, protection from critters eating it
If sandwiches ever start growing on trees, then you may have something!

Just the right size to give us a snack or meal and not to big where you have to invite the neighbors over to help you eat it! Same thing with the animals, chickens and eggs are not 10ft. tall,,, again just the right size. A cow is just the right size to supply a family with just enough milk for the day and not 1 ft. tall with just a thimble full!!!!
