Joe is absolutely RIGHT. He knows damn well this gun control shit is just a distraction.

That would be an interesting statistic if our homicide rate was uniform across the entire country. It isn't. It primarily tends to be an urban problem in the US. By geographic area, about 85-90% of the country has no real problem with gun violence. Most of these areas tend to have much higher rates of gun ownership than the cities as well. As a result, one can easily argue that there is no direct correlation between rates of gun ownership and gun violence within the United States.

The problems that create the violence in our cities are cultural and economic in nature. Guns aren't the root of the problem and a ban will prove ineffective, as cities such as Chicago and Washington DC have shown us all too well.
