There are tons of places where you can go to anonymously talk this out, hotlines and what not. Before you can come to terms with things and rationally think things out, I really think it'll help. I found one on google, for victims of rape, sexual assault, and incest. [link to www.rainn.org] The number is there on the homepage. There will be someone you can talk to who has dealt with such things before, someone who you can get support from and maybe even advice. I am sure they could help you a lot more than the people around here can. |

I was tripping over my own words when I told someone. It's starting to come back to me and I don't know why or what triggered it. But thank you for helping me move forward. I have been a member here for a long time and I just felt I could get some good help here. Aside from the trolls and the shills I really truly do value the advice and wisdom from the people on this forum. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. |

(i don´t like the term "what has happened to you", as this takes away the responsibility from those who did harm you). you have tough times ahead, but you will get through them as well, and after that, you´ll be a lot stronger. keep fighting and try to get help from outside; i am sure there are some organisations you can join for free, self-helping groups, psychologists who can help you with that and whom you can trust. all the best |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 29311787 Canada 02/07/2013 03:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am but I'm concerned. My family..um, I guess I'll just say they are well informed. I'm scared that now that I've let the cat out of the bag they might try to silence me. I appreciate the hugs and I desperately need the strength. I'm not 100% safe though. Please pray for my safety, if anything. Quoting: En Sof Nobody deserves to live in fear. And though its amazing that you reached out here, you can't get better while living in an unsafe place. There are services available to help people in your situation and given what you've described you went through, and what you are feeling now, reaching out sooner rather than later might be a good idea. You can call a hotline from a safe place so that they can help you find out what options and services are available to you. Also, have you searched online for services offered in your city/community? And let me know if you need any help. If something triggered this response in you by bringing up repressed feelings, you may be having a panic attack (shaking, loss of grip on reality) - strong stress response. Deep breathing helps with this (and count while you inhale and exhale - and hold the breath in for a while each cycle too). Once you are safe, you'll have to deal with the repressed pain, but first thing is getting yourself in a safe place. |

Find people you can talk with and trust. |

First take care of yourself. You are not alone in this, at least you are remembering. It is the first step in healing. You are no longer a child, and as difficult as this is you can recover now. Also community centers often offer support/counselling, and may have places you can live while in transistion - or at least they should be more than willing to point you in the right direction. You aren't without options, as much as it may feel that way. You will get through this. |
