Everything west of 25th street is a pretty good place to live. Everything east of it is a hell hole. I use to attend Blackhawks games on a regular basis but now the area surrounding United Center is really bad. Make a wrong turn and you can be on serious trouble. I live in the western suburbs, maybe 20 miles from downtown and life here is pretty good. I'm allowed to have my guns, the schools are great, and crime is low. I also pay $15,000 a year in property tax which is high but you get what you pay for. The biggest property tax contributor in my town is McDonald's Corp. Hate their food but I love their $$$$$. The cops are good and very wuick to respond if something happens. I only wonder when we will eventually be infiltrated by criminals looking for a new area to score.
