Unfortunately this is London now, teaming with so called ethnic minorities.I am not racist, but this intimidation is disgusting. Both my sets of grandparents lived in London, they wouldn't recognise it now, My parents were both born in London, they now live on the border of London and Essex. I really worry when they have to travel up to the city.

I feel exactly like you do with my parents, especially my mom. Back in the 60s when they lived in the city here with my grandparents it was still a pretty decent and safe place, no urban decay or high crime rate. Then the whites started moving out in drives from the 70s onwards because of all the violent street crime 'minorites' brought with them when they started coming to northern cities in droves. They grew up near a housing project [you call them estates] that was built for veterans from WW2 and Korea. My grand parents remember when it was considered such a nice place, regular working families would line up to get the opportunity to live there. Since the late 60s and 70s they have been complete shitholes responsible for 99% of the street crime in the surrounding neighborhood. The city keeps fixing them up, making them pretty, planting flowers, giving it's inhabitants all kinds of free stuff, but attitudes don't change. My grandparents remember a time when it was perfectly safe to walk home from the subway at midnight or walk to church early in the morning or let the kids walk by themselves to school in winter when it;s still dark in the AM. It all started falling to shit from the late 1960s-70s onward here.
