Leaven is a very, very small ingredient in bread. The "leaven" of the Pharisees was doctrinal. They taught the Egyptian 'god of the dead' (Chapter 20:38 of the Gospel of Luke) doctrine of the physical raising of a dead body from the grave; which is the significance of the term "synagogue of Satan" in the Revelation of John. That's why they wanted Jesus dead. He repudiated their doctrine, expressed by the mouth of the Sadducees. Michael
